Online Course general Description

Creativity & Innovation management is critical for all organisations and
companies. This online course is designed to increase the European business
and vocational training community awareness and to cultivate a common
consciousness about creativity management in order to create the necessary
supporting culture for creativity in Europe.

This is an online course that explores the nature and the essentials of
creativity (session 1), the factors that stimulate creativity and the barriers that
inhibit creativity and innovation (session 2), the techniques that could be
adopted at the workplace in order to enhance the creative working climate
and foster more creative individuals as well as teams. It also reveals the
profile of the creative leader/ manager and techniques enhancing creativity on
an organisational level (session 3). Finally, technology uses that promote and
facilitate creativity processes. All issues are explored for individual and team
creativity.

Course Aims

The aim of this course is firstly to appreciate the value of creativity and to
provide incentives for the necessary efforts stimulating creativity. Secondly, it
aims to analyze the agents of advancing and sustaining creativity in different
levels (individual, team, and organization), characteristics (leadership) and
means (technology). The course’s final target is to demonstrate appropriate
ways of working with creativity based on the aforementioned classification, for
specific applications.

Learning objectives:

As a result of this session participants will be able to:

   Justify the need for creativity

   Explain the process of creativity

   Discuss the effect of these forces on creativity

   Outline various methods/ techniques of using creative thinking

Creativity Online Course (where to access it)

This course is designed so that target groups can attend it online. Every
possible stakeholder will be able to access and follow this course, which will
be included in the project’s website (www.train4creativity.eu).

Online Course’s Target Group

This course is targeted at SMEs managers / owners and R&D personnel. It
might also be very interesting for business associations, private or public
schools, educational institutes, trainers, and every possible stakeholder.
Everyone being interested is welcome to visit and use the creativity online
course.

Contents

Initially, the online course will be composed by 4 sections:

The first section is the introductory part. The second section is the
theoretical part, the third part includes the techniques and the fourth part
includes the online test. All the training material and all section are translated
in 5 languages: Greek, Lithuanian, Spanish, Italian and German.

Sessions are organized by topic. Theoretical aspects of each topic are
presented as well as case studies and exercises for amelioration of
comprehension.

The second session deals with introductory subjects of creativity and tries to
outline the basic steps of creativity. Definitions, characteristics of creative
environment,     creative   personality   traits,   creativity   process   stages,
mechanisms, etc. are analyzed. This part also presents success factors and
barriers that nurture or hinder creativity. Factors such as the gender, race,
ethic composition, personality, environment, shyness, emotional intelligence,
culture, climate etc. will be analyzed. Every factor/barrier will be illustrated by
an example/ best case study.

This is also provided in a pdf file that the visitor will be able to download but
he/ she could also have direct access to read the content by clicking on
“theoretical part”.

The third session includes creativity techniques in detail. The user will have
the chance to read a theoretical part and a practical one, such as a case
study, explaining how this technique can be implemented, what are the
success factors, references used, glossary etc.

At the end of each session the user will answer to some questions (open,
multiple choice, etc.) in order to check if he/ she has understood the session’s
basics.

All sessions will include proposed material for further study. The online course
will be connected to the E-library, which is another part of the project’s
website. The E-library will provide the user with numerous papers, books,
links, events etc. relevant to creativity. This linkage will support the online
course. This detailed E-library will cover most of the users’ questions or
research activities for creativity issues.




The fourth session is the online test which includes multiple choice and true
or false questions for the reader to check the knowledge he/ she acquired on
creativity techniques in total.

Online Course Requirements


In this part, users’ skills, background or knowledge required will be described.

For example, potential users need to have basic computer (IT) skills in order
to use the computer and follow the online course. They will also need to have
access to a personal computer in order to follow the course.




Prerequisite Knowledge

Basic understanding of business methods and management is desirable but
not required, and prior managerial experience is foremost desirable.
