									               Web Designer/ Webmaster (Voluntary) – Job Description

Do you have 1 or 2 days a week to support the work of a UK registered charity and
Malagasy NGO on community development and conservation projects in Madagascar?
With three full-time staff members in the London office, we depend on voluntary
support to keep our operations going.

Founded in 1994, the organisation works in one of the most impoverished regions in
south east Madagascar, home to a population of some 300,000 people. Azafady’s aim is
to help these communities to empower themselves and develop in sustainable ways,
increasing local access to health care and education. A core priority is to conserve the
delicate ecosystems of Madagascar through facilitating viable alternatives to
deforestation. Azafady’s projects emphasise training, capacity building and education
geared towards helping local people to help themselves.

We are looking for a volunteer Webmaster who can assist us in the maintenance and
design of the Azafady website. Main duties will include:

      Updating of Azafady’s website
      Maintenance of Azafady website pages
      Assistance with the technical side of Azafady’s website
      Contribution of ideas and creativity to build on our on-line presence

The applicant will need to be an enthusiastic and committed individual with a genuine
interest in using their web skills to promote the work of Azafady in Madagascar. Ideally,
the candidate should have experience of the following:

      Web design and development
      Adobe Dreamweaver
      Photoshop
      Illustrator
      Advanced in HTML (handcoding included)
      CSS
      PHP
      Creative design skills

Preferably, the volunteer should be able to offer one or two days a week for a minimum
of six months, working remotely from home.

Contract type: Volunteer, unpaid.
Contract duration: Minimum six months, part time, 1 or 2 days a week (this is flexible).
Location: Working remotely.
