Project Title: 1. Feasibility study on the establishment of wholesale and distribution center
in Lao PDR and Myanmar
2. Establishment of wholesale and distribution center in Cambodia, Lao PDR
and Myanmar

1. Background Information and Justification for the Project
1.1 The feasibility study on the establishment of wholesale and distribution center
in Lao PDR and Myanmar is a fast track project under ACMECS which aims
to examine and to evaluate market capability and opportunity in Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Myanmar as well as to put forward justified recommendations of
a probable concept and information to the establishment of wholesale market
and distribution center in Lao PDR and Myanmar. It also aims to interlink
local markets in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Thailand with other
foreign region market with great efficiency.
1.2 The establishment of wholesale market and distribution center in Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Myanmar is an implementation stage of the abovementioned
project in accordance with its findings. This consists of land acquisition,
selection of space, construction of buildings and other amenities, infrastructure
development, business management system, transportation and
communication, waste and pollution treatment system.
2. Details of the Project
2.1 Objective
2.1.1 To conduct an investigation, from economic and financial view points,
on the establishment possibility of wholesale market and distribution
center each in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar.
2.1.2 To pinpoint appropriate locations for the establishment of wholesale
market and distribution center in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar to
perform as a distribution and linkage center of agricultural & industrial
products and services for both public and private sectors in ACMECS
countries.
2.1.3 To identify pattern and construction of buildings and other amenities,
infrastructure development, business management system,
transportation and communication, waste and pollution treatment
system of wholesale market and distribution center each in Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Myanmar.
2.1.4 To identify feasible management structure of the wholesale market and
distribution center, as well as its flow chart indicating responsibilities
of each section, classification of product in line for trade, and to
recommend tendency of investment incentives for trade, production
and tourism.
2.1.5 To promote and uplift economic well being and growth of Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Myanmar.

2.1.6 To create employment and to generate income for people of ACMECS
countries.
2.1.7 To make use of / conserve on natural resources efficiently within
ACMECS countries.
2.1.8 To develop higher-standard product and services which could compete
in the world market.
2.1.9 To decrease production cost and energy waste in ACMECS countries.
2.2 Project Outputs
2.2.1 Report findings which can be timely implemented to the establishment
of wholesale market and distribution centerm and comprised of:
1) Production capability and market opportunity
2) Economic feasibility
3) Financial feasibility
4) Environmental suitability
2.2.2 Establishment of wholesale market and distribution center in
border area of ACMECS countries
2.2.3 Increase of trade volume and value within ACMECS countries
2.2.4 Increase of income earning of people in ACMECS countries
2.3 Project Activities
2.3.1 Examine the Establishment of wholesale market and distribution center
2.3.2 Identify location for Establishment of wholesale market and

2.3.3 Arrange manpower for marketing management
2.3.4 Construct buildings, other amenities and basic infrastructure and
transportation
2.3.5 Set up telecommunication system, waste and pollution treatment
