Estimated LD50 in rats (oral) - 300 mg/kg EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: May cause irritation to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract resulting in coughing, sore throat and shortness of breath; may cause irritation to gastrointestinal tract resulting in burning pain in mouth and stomach, hemorrhagic gastritis, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. EMERGENCY FIRST AID PROCEDURES: INHALATION: Remove patient to uncontaminated area and provide fresh air. Give oxygen if necessary. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Get immediate medical attention. EYES: Flush with large amounts of water. Get immediate medical attention. SKIN: Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reusing. If irritation persists, get medical attention. INGESTION: Rinse mouth with water. If conscious, induce vomiting by giving 2 glasses of water or milk and sticking finger down throat. Never give anything by mouth to a person who is not conscious. Get immediate medical attention.
