                             President’s Message

                                                   new location at Sharp Spectrum we are able to
                                                   hold longer sessions for 2 CEU’s. The price will
                                                   not change for this though and will remain $14
                                                   and $7 no matter the number of CEU’s. We will
                                                   also be able to hold our board meetings after
                                                   each education session at the Sharp location
                                                   and these sessions are open to all as well.
                                                   Please feel free to stick around and participate.

                                                   Now for some more good news…our first
                                                   education session of the year in September is
                                                   FREE for all students. We want to make sure
                                                   that our student population is well informed of
                                                   all that goes on in this wonderful field that they
                                                   are getting involved in. The students are our

2009-10 year. We will re-introduce the SDHIA board and our NEW committee members
to all of you at our NEW location and ask that all NEW members and students introduce
themselves as well. We will discuss news and updates that affect all of us which include
the NEW and upcoming events of SDHIA, CHIA and AHIMA.

     AHIMA Foundation Merit Scholarship Application is Now Online
        During the first round of applications (which had an April 24 submission deadline),

                39 students received scholarships, with a total of $50,800 awarded!

 The AHIMA Foundation has posted a new online scholarship application form for the
 second round of 2009 applications, with a submission deadline of October 31. The online
 format combines both undergraduate and graduate applications into one form, with
 specific sections for each type of applicant. Applicants may save and continue work on
 the application up until the submission deadline.

 The application form, instructions, document templates and other information about the
 merit scholarship program can be found at the AHIMA Foundation Web site. If you have
