1. Envelop (w/ stamp) _____ (15 points. 3%) Due: 11-23-2010
-Include your return address in the upper, right hand corner. We will write the embassy address in class.
We’re writing the embassies asking for brochures and other information.
2. Map_____ (50 points. 10%) Due: 11-30-2010
Use an atlas or other source to find, draw and color a Map (8.5” x 11”) of your country
Include the following:
The country name
Capital city & other major cities
Mountains, rivers, deserts, etc.
Name surrounding countries and/or bodies of water
Compass rose
Key explaining all features of a map
3. Geography/History notes_____ (20 points. 4%) Due: 12-2-2010
Use the required resources to find information about your country on the following two elements:
Geography and History. Complete the research on note cards; be sure to include bibliography
references for each resource used. See outline for more information. Mark geography cards blue and
history cards yellow.
4. Economics/Government notes _____ (20 points. 4%) Due: 12-6-2010
Use the required resources to find information about your country on the following two elements:
Economics and Government. Complete the research on note cards; be sure to include bibliography
references for each resource used. See outline for more information. Mark economic cards green and
government cards red.
5. Culture/ Belief Systems notes _____ (20 points. 4%) Due: 12-9-2010
Use the required resources to find information about your country on the following two elements: Belief
Systems and Culture. Complete the research on note cards; be sure to include bibliography references
for each resource used. See outline for more information. Mark culture cards orange and belief
system cards purple.
6. Final Typed Paper (points included on final poster) Due: 12-13-2010
Type all your notes into one final copy. Be sure to have at least one peer proof-read your paper. Print it
as bulleted facts. The more bulleted facts, the better. You will change the size to fit on the poster
later.
7. Poster (175 points. 35%) Due: 12-15-2010
-- 6 typed sections, each in a separate text box, for each section you typed.
-- A large, visible title.
-- A minimum of 10 pictures, in color. Pictures can include: natural landscape, cities, man-made
attractions, cultural centers, etc.
-- Glue all typed sections of your paper and pictures to construction paper before gluing on to your
poster. You need two colors of construction paper that match the country’s flag. (e.g. red & blue).
-- Be sure your poster is neat and attractive!
8. Tourist Brochure _____ (100 points. 20%) Due: 1-14-2010
-- Make a Tourist Brochure for your country.
-- Include pictures of a map, flag and common currency (money).
---Write 2 paragraphs about one manmade attraction to visit and one natural attraction to visit. See the
example for more information. Include one picture of each attraction.
-- Write a bulleted list of quick facts about your country, i.e. population, best times to visits, areas of
interest, etc.
--Write a 2 paragraph, persuasive summary of why someone would want to visit your country of study.
--Include a copy of your country’s national anthem.
--Be sure your brochure is neat and attractive! You are trying to entice us to visit your country of study.
9. Extra Credit (15 extra points. +5%) Due: 12-10-2008
Select one of the following activities to make about your country. See Mr. Wagoner for final approval of
your choice.

10. Bibliography_____ (points included with paper) Due 12-13-2010
Turn in typed, on a separate sheet of paper to your class tray. You need a minimum of five different
sources. See my bulletin board for examples of how to cite sources.

11. Paper doll _____ (50 points. 10%) Due: 12-16-2010
Make a Paper Doll wearing native/traditional costumes from your country. (to be completed at home)
12. Recipe _____ (25 points. 5%) Due 12-17-2010
Use a Cookbook, encyclopedia, etc. to find out about the food eaten by the natives of your country.
Copy a recipe of a dish from your country. Include a bibliography. You will prepare a native dish from
your country for our feast on 1-7-2011.
13. _____Food brought in for banquet (25 points. 5%) Due: 1-7-2011
Bring in food the morning of 1-7-11. More information will be sent out the first week of January.

You may print one slide in color from the school’s colored printer, but all pictures need to be in color.
You will be given a ticket to redeem when you want to print in color. Make a one slide collage on
power point. Fit as much as you can. When you print it, you can cut it out. Other options include free
drawing a picture or print a black and white picture and color over it with colored pencils.
