MALVERN, Pa.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program announced today
that David S. Ryder has been appointed as the first Chief Development Officer for the $2.3 billion donor-advised
fund.

Since its inception in 1997, Vanguard Charitable’s donors have recommended more than 290,000 grants, resulting
in $3 billion going to charities across the country. With the assistance of Mr. Ryder as Chief Development Officer,
the organization is entering an exciting new phase with a goal of accelerating its philanthropic impact.

Mr. Ryder, who has 30 years of sales experience, previously had a highly successful commercial real estate sales
career with CB Richard Ellis and Brandywine Realty Trust. He will be the newest member of Vanguard Charitable’s
experienced senior leadership team.

“In his capacity as our lead business development executive, David will be working to increase national awareness
about the unique advantages of Vanguard Charitable’s donor-advised fund. He will team with our marketing and
service teams in innovative and expansive ways to better serve our donors and their advisors to increase
philanthropic impact, and build smart, scalable growth plans to achieve that goal,” said Vanguard Charitable
President Benjamin Pierce.

Working directly with Mr. Ryder will be Senior Philanthropic Consultant Zachary Schruers and a Business
Development Coordinator, a position that is currently open.

Mr. Ryder holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire and currently serves on the
Board of the National Transplant Assistance Fund in Radnor, PA. He resides in Rosemont, PA, with his wife, Mary,
where they raised their three sons.

About Vanguard Charitable

With $2.3 billion in assets and $3 billion in grants to other public charities since its inception in 1997, the Vanguard
Charitable Endowment Program is among the largest charitable organizations in the nation. Vanguard Charitable is a
public charity (as described in sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the United States Internal Revenue Code)
established to increase philanthropy across the United States. Through its donor-advised fund and the individual
donor-advised accounts that aggregate to comprise the fund, Vanguard Charitable promotes charitable giving by
working with individual and corporate donors seeking a simple, low-cost way to coordinate their philanthropic
planning. Although it was founded by Vanguard, Vanguard Charitable is an independent organization governed by its
own Board of Trustees. Additional information about Vanguard Charitable's donor-advised fund, and how donor-
advised accounts work, is available at vanguardcharitable.org, and an ongoing conversation about issues
concerning philanthropy, charitable planning and altruism is maintained at vanguardcharitable.org/blog.
