INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY

HARRISON, 50s, plain clothes, never a smile, sits at a
table, sips coffee and reads the morning paper.

DOROTHY, 40s, plain pantsuit, enters, kisses Harrison on
the cheek. She glances out the window.

                        DOROTHY
Don’t get bent out of shape. It’s
           just for the weekend.

                        HARRISON
                   (scowls)
           A four-day weekend.

A horn outside. As Dorothy exits …

                        DOROTHY
Try wearing a smile for once.

INT. HOUSE – ENTRY - DAY

Dorothy opens the door to greet CASEY, 30s, feminine and
pretty in an elegant skirt and blouse. She carries a
heavy suitcase.

                        DOROTHY
           Hey! You look great!

                       CASEY
           Liar.

Casey enters, plunks her suitcase. Cheek kisses.

                       DOROTHY
I’ll have Harrison help with the bag.

                        CASEY
Darn, I was hoping for a couple of
           hunks in togas!

Giggles.

                                                   CUT TO

Harrison struggles to carry the suitcase upstairs. In the
background, Dorothy leads Casey to the kitchen, arms
entwined. Harrison grumbles.
                                                           2

INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM - DAY

Harrison enters, drops the overstuffed suitcase on the
bed. It pops open. A few books on top, perfumed and
feminine silk and lace below. Harrison is curious.

He peeks out the door to make sure the coast is clear,
then runs his hands over the silk undergarments, his
fingers run along the lace edges.

                      DOROTHY (O.S.)
          Harrison?

Harrison is startled, quickly closes the suitcase. He
exits.

INT. HOUSE – ENTRY - DAY

Harrison looks down, sees Dorothy and Casey preparing to
leave.

                       DOROTHY
          We’ll be back about eight.

Harrison nods. Dorothy and Casey wave, then exit.

EXT. HOUSE – DAY

                       DOROTHY
Once again, I apologize for Harrison.
          World’s most miserable man.

As they get in the car …

                       CASEY
          He needs a hobby.

                       DOROTHY
Tried that. Nobody at the hobby shop
          will wait on him.

More giggles.

INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM - DAY

Harrison watches as the car pulls away. He then sets his
sights on Casey’s suitcase.
                                                        3

                                                  CUT TO
Harrison sits at a vanity, holds a silk camisole to his
cheek, relishes the sensation. Eyes heavy, lips tremble.
He sets the camisole, unbuttons his shirt.

                                                   CUT TO

Harrison sits in a chair, panties and camisole. Depressed.
Confused. He smokes a cigarette. He glances at the
suitcase, laboured breathing.

                                                   CUT TO

Harrison, now in a skirt, pulls on a blouse, buttons it.
He stands in front of a mirror, mesmerized by his new
look. He sits on the bed, weeps. He marches from the room.

INT. HOUSE – HALL – DAY

Harrison makes long strides to an …

INT. HOUSE – OFFICE – DAY

Harrison enters, fumbles with a few keys, opens a desk.
Inside is a gun. He holds it, hands shaking. Resolve. He
stands in a mirror, holds the gun to his head. A final
glance at his attire, and his eyes shut tight. His finger
massages the trigger. He can’t do it, collapses.

LATER

INT. HOUSE - HALL – NIGHT

Dorothy and Casey come up the stairs.

                       DOROTHY
                  (whispers)
          See you in the morning.

They kiss goodnight, go separate ways.

INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM – NIGHT

Casey enters, sees her suitcase closed on the bed. She
opens it, sets the books aside, puts things away. She
takes out the camisole, unbuttons her top.

INT. HOUSE – MASTER BEDROOM – NIGJHT

Dorothy enters, sees Harrison sound asleep.
                                                        4

INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY

Dorothy prepares coffee, breakfast.

INT. HOUSE – HALL – DAY

Harrison exits the Master Bedroom, sees Casey’s door is
open just a few inches. Harrison tiptoes past, can just
see Casey in panties and camisole, hair tied up in a
feminine bun, choosing an outfit. Harrison takes a second
to spy, then quickly heads downstairs.

INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY

The table is set for breakfast, Harrison enters. Almost a
smile as he sits.

                       HARRISON
          How was the concert?

Dorothy turns, surprised by the question. A smile.

                       DOROTHY
          Wonderful!

Harrison nods, sips his coffee, disappears behind his
newspaper.

Casey enters, big smile and pretty dress. Harrison sneaks
a peek.

                       CASEY
          Morning!

Cheek kiss to Dorothy, a wave to Harrison. Harrison waves,
almost smiles.

LATER

INT. HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAY

Harrison watches as Dorothy and Casey drive away. He then
stands at the bottom of the stairs, gazes up, afraid. A
few attempts to take the first step, then he slowly
climbs up.

INT. HOUSE . HALL – DAY

Harrison stands outside Casey’s bedroom door.
                                                                5

INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM – DAY

Harrison enters. A deep breath and he enters – like
crossing a threshold. He catches a glimpse of himself –
all boy – in the mirror. Unhappy. He opens the closet,
runs his hands along the hung clothes. So many choices.

He selects an elegant dinner dress, carefully lays it on
the bed. He then opens an intimates drawer. Lips tremble
as he reaches out. He takes out a pair of panties and a
bra, inhales the silk. Eyes heavy.

                                                           CUT TO

Harrison adjusts the dress, admires his reflection. The
bra is stuffed, a belt snug. Fem figure. A smile.

LATER

INT. HOUSE – DINING ROOM – NIGHT

Harrison, Dorothy and Casey dine.

                        DOROTHY
           More wine, anyone.

Harrison looks at his empty glass.

                        HARRISON
           I’d like a little.

A smile. Dorothy pours wine. She and Casey exchange
glances.

LATER

INT. HOUSE – BEDROOM – NIGHT

Casey folds clothes into a drawer, Dorothy sits on the
bed.

                        CASEY
Maybe it’s the four days off.

                       DOROTHY
No. They always make him even more
           miserable.
                                                        6

                       CASEY
Well, whatever it is, he looks the
          better for it.

                       DOROTHY
          He does.

                                         CUT TO

Harrison, dressed in another elegant dress, fem figure
accentuated. He stares at the door, approaches. Hesitant,
he steps from the room. Confident.

INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY

Harrison makes a lunch, still in Casey’s clothes. His
moves are fluid and elegant. He’s home.

LATER

INT. MASTER BEDROOM – NIGHT

Harrison sleeps. Dorothy enters from a bath, sits on the
bed. Harrison opens his eyes, watches in a mirror as
Dorothy puts on cream, removes her earrings, fluffs her
hair before lying down. Fascinated.

CUT TO

INT. HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY

Harrison makes coffee, sets the table.

Dorothy enters, wipes the sleep from her eyes. Shock.

                       DOROTHY
          What’s …

Casey enters.

                       CASEY
          Holy crap!
                                                             7

                       HARRISON
                  (to Dorothy)
          I – I don’t know how you take you
          coffee.

                        DOROTHY
          Black.

Casey and Dorothy sit, watch Harrison with happy
puzzlement.

Harrison sets toast and coffee, sits.

                       HARRISON
          What’s on your agenda today?

                       CASEY
          Blizzard. Probably staying in, maybe
          watch some old movies.

Harrison saddens.

                        HARRISON
          Oh.

LATER

INT. HOUSE – DOWNSTAIRS HALL - DAY

Harrison looks into the living room where Dorothy and
Casey watch television.

INT. HOUSE – UPSTAIRS HALL – DAY

Harrison paces outside Casey’s bedroom, pushes the door
open just a few inches. He wrings his hands, stares at
the open closet. Suddenly Casey is at the top of the
stairs, sees Harrison.

                       CASEY
          Everything okay?

Harrison jumps.

                       HARRISON
Oh, yes. Um, heard a noise.

He quickly exits to the master bedroom. Casey watches him
– curious.
                                                               8

INT. HOUSE - MASTER BEDROOM – DAY

Harrison sits on the bed. He looks at the closet, opens
it. He touches Dorothy’s clothing. No spark. He closes
the closet, pouts on the bed.

                                                          CUT TO

INT. HOUSE – ENTRY – DAY

Dorothy and Casey embrace. Harrison comes down the stairs
with the suitcase.

                       DOROTHY
Call me when you get home.

                       CASEY
          I will.

A final hug, Dorothy opens the door. Casey reaches for
her suitcase.

                       HARRISON
No. I’ll -- help you out with it.

                       CASEY
          Oh! Well great. Thank you.

EXT. HOUSE – DAY

Harrison carries the suitcase to Casey’s car, smiles
fondly at it as he puts it in.

Dorothy and Harrison watch as Casey drives away.

                       DOROTHY
          Are you feeling okay?

                       HARRISON
          Fine, yes.

He turns, looks back at the house.

                       HARRISON
I’m – I’m going to do some shopping.

                       DOROTHY
          Now?

Harrison nods.
                                                      9

CLOSING CREDITS OVER …

Soft light illuminates Harrison, fem clothing, a wig up
in a fem bun. He dances in a beam of light from the
window. He’s happy.
