SALARY SCHEDULE:                                  G-GF: $14,589 - $17,376

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:                              184 Days

EFFECTIVE STARTING DATE: November 15, 2010

JOB TITLE:                Child Nutrition Program Worker

RESPONSIBLE TO:           Child Nutrition Program Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or GED certificate
  2. Have JCD food handler certification
  3. Must be able to read and write English and do simple arithmetic
  4. Must be able to follow oral and written directions
  5. Good physical condition, ability to lift fifty pounds
  6. Must have the capacity to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations
  7. Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure desirable
  8. Must be neat in appearance and follow dress code

JOB GOAL:        To serve students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency,
                 cleanliness, and friendliness

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
   1. Food preparation
      a. Know daily menu requirements
      b. Follow recipes
      c. Know when to begin food preparation
      d. Know how to store prepared food before serving
      e. Prepare assigned dishes
      f. Follow daily food preparation schedule
   2. Food storage
      a. Assure that food is stored at appropriate temperatures
      b. Maintain a first in/first out procedure for moving food from storage
      c. Maintain a record of food taken from storage
   3. Serving line
      a. Serving students and staff in a friendly manner
      b. Serve prescribed portions to all customers
      c. Serve a neat and attractive tray
      d. Maintain clean serving line
      e. Protect food between serving periods
   4. Personal responsibilities
      a. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
      b. Follow assignments given by manager
      c. Maintain a friendly attitude toward co-workers and customers
      d. Complete work assignments on time
      e. Report to work on time
      f. Accept duties assigned by manager
      g. Follow approved dress code for lunchroom workers

   5.  Cleaning responsibilities
       a. Maintain a clean work area
       b. Assume dish room responsibilities when assigned and windows when assigned
       c. Properly clean equipment, floors, storage areas, bathrooms, walls, furniture, and windows when
           assigned
       d. Remove garbage and sanitize can
       e. Clean and hang mops
   6. Cashiering/Record keeping
       a. Accounts for funds collected from students, staff and visitors – Enters pre-payment into accounts
       b. Accounts for meals and reconciles all transactions to funds collected and meals served
       c. Uses lists of free and reduced breakfast and lunch recipients and accounts for students receiving such
           meals during serving period – maintains confidentiality
       d. Performs duties such as serving and cleaning of tables, counters, and furnishings in dining area
       e. Assists with automated production records, recipes, nutrition analysis, menu overlays and day-end
           procedure
   7. Special events
       a. Prepare food as assigned for special events such as banquets, luncheons, box lunches, etc.
       b. Complete set-up service, and clean-up for special events
   8. Follow all local, state, and federal requirements and procedures regarding the operation of a child feeding
       program
   9. Demonstrate loyalty to the child nutrition program and school community by refraining from gossip
       concerning the cafeteria or school system – if there is a problem, report it through the proper channels of
       authority
   10. Perform other duties as assigned by the child nutrition program manager/coordinator/principal
