NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN MBAS JetBlue Airways Travel Scholarship Program The National Association of Women MBAs (NAWMBA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to empowering graduate women in business in order to propel more women into leadership positions in corporate America and to enhance the diversity of the nation’s workforce. NAWMBA is dedicated to empowering more women MBAs to propel them onto leadership programs across Corporate America. One way in which NAWMBA empowers women in through continued educational and development workshops at the Annual NAWMBA Conference and Career Fair. The JetBlue Airways travel scholarship program is for women attending the 2009 NAWMBA national conference and career fair who are enrolled in MBA programs, women who have graduated from their MBA program, and all NAWMBA members. The 2009 JetBlue Airways Travel Scholarship guidelines and information follow: Applicant Eligibility Eligibility qualifications: Candidates must be a current NAWMBA Member Candidates must be flying from a JetBlue city to Burbank (BUR), Long Beach (LGB) or Los Angeles (LAX) California Candidates must be registered to attend the 2009 NAWMBA National Conference and Career Fair Candidates must agree to be present at the closing reception of the National Conference and Career Fair October 31, 2009, where they will be recognized Candidates must agree to participate in public relations activities for NAWMBA Application Requirements The application requirements for the 2009 JetBlue Airways Travel scholarship applications are as follows: Complete and sign application Provide a current resume Write an essay on the Monthly Topic The essay must be: a. Maximum of one page b. Typed, double spaced in 12 point font c. Submitted with your application; do not put your name on or in the essay
All documents must be received by the last day of the month of which the candidate is applying no exceptions will be made. Selection Process The selection process consists of: All completed and eligible applications will be submitted to the Scholarship Committee All eligibility requirements will be reviewed and confirmed by NAWMBA staff, or chosen representatives All information that is forwarded to the NAWMBA Scholarship Committee will be reviewed blindly Award recipients will be evaluated on their contributions to society at large, and essay content Decisions will be rendered final and will be announced on 20th of the month following the application, by 9pm PST. Awards: One capacity-controlled, roundtrip travel certificate on JetBlue Airways will be presented to each recipient to attend the conference. Deadline and Mailing Information Applicants must submit all requested documents no later than the last day of the month of their application. Overnight packages will be accepted.
