Achievement Standards
 Departments prepare a programme

  Level 2, Level 3 (Yr 13)
 Don’t need to be assessed against
  every standard at every level

 Either credit or no credit - no merit

        NCEA Certificate
 NCEA Level 1
 they must achieve 80 credits including 8
  credits in literacy standards and 8 credits in
  numeracy standards.

 NCEA Level 2
 they must achieve: 60 credits at level 2 or
  above; plus 20 credits at any level.
 There are no literacy or numeracy
  requirements for this qualification

 NCEA Level 3
 they must achieve: 60 credits at level 3 or
  above; plus 20 credits at level 2 or above,

 NZQA Moderators check 10%
  of student work - 2-3 tasks per
  level. 8 scripts per task

 NZQA checks schools’ systems
  and policies
 Record of Achievement
 Each year around April, the
  student will be sent a Record of
  Achievement (formerly called the
  Record of Learning). This records
  all standards achieved during their
  time at school.
 A summary of qualifications gained
  and achievement will be listed at
  the top of the Record of
  Achievement. Standards are then
  grouped according to related areas
  of study.
