Groveport Youth Fall Baseball Program
Games and instruction one day a week to keep your skills honed! All Games will be held at Groveport Park at 7370 Groveport Rd T-Birds t-ball: A fun and highly instructional introduction to baseball for 3 and 4 year olds. Players learn the basics of throwing, catching, fielding, batting, and base running, and then apply what they have learned in fun, non-competitive games. Sessions are one hour long, one day per week, and include all instruction and game play in one outing. Sessions will be held on Mondays (9/14 – 10/26) from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Team rosters and schedules will be e-mailed in early September. Rookie League Baseball: A fun introduction to coach pitch baseball for 5 and 6 year olds. Players will
receive instruction in all basics of the sport, and will apply what they have learned in fun games. The games will be non-competitive and no score will be kept, but hits and outs will be recorded as they are in older coach pitch programs. Players who are not able to hit a pitched ball will be able to use a tee while learning. Six year olds who are experienced in this level of play may choose to play in the more advanced coach pitch program (see the “Minor League” description below). Rookie League sessions are 1¼ hours long and include all instruction and game play. Sessions will be held on Mondays (9/14 – 10/26) from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. Team rosters and schedules will be e-mailed in early September.

An inning consists of three outs or five runs (whichever comes first). 6 year olds may choose to play in the more instructional Rookie League (see above). 8 year olds may choose to play in the more competitive “Major Leagues” (see below). All games will be held on Wednesday evenings (9/9-10/28) from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Team rosters and schedules will be e-mailed in early September.
Minor League Baseball: Coach-Pitch baseball for 6-8 year olds. The concentration of this program will be
“Major League” Baseball: Recreational “kid pitch” baseball for 8 - 10 year olds. Little League kid pitch
baseball rules will be used in this fun and instructional program. It is a great way for kids to learn about “real” baseball in a fun program and to continue playing ball while the weather is still warm. All games will be held on Wednesday evenings (9/9 – 10/28. Team rosters and schedules will be e-mailed in early September.
COACHING: All coaching will be conducted by Jump Start Sports staff coaches. Parents may choose to assist
our staff. Instruction will focus on all aspects of the game and will be appropriate for the age and skill level of each specific group. The league format will keep the program fun and challenging and will enable our coaches to instruct within the context of a game. Waiver and Release: I, as parent or guardian of this registrant, do hereby consent to his/her participation in the listed program. Registrant is in good health and can participate in all activities. Therefore, in consideration of services to be performed, we do hereby release Jump Start Sports, LLC, it’s officers agents and employees; the Groveport Recreation Center, , its officers, agents, members, and employees; the City of Groveport, its officers, agents, members, and employees (collectively referred to as the "Board"), in their official and individual capacities from any and all claims, liability or demands for any personal injury, sickness or death as well as property damage expenses of any nature whatsoever which may be sustained or incurred by said registrant in connection with participation. Furthermore, we, on behalf of the registrant, hereby assume all risk of personal injury, sickness, death, damage and expenses as a result of the registrant's participation in the listed program. The undersigned further agrees to defend, hold harmless and indemnify the Board for any liability sustained by said Board as a result of the negligent, willful or intentional acts of the registrant. The undersigned acknowledges that the Board does not provide insurance for participants. I further acknowledge that registrant must have insurance coverage to participate in the program listed.
