Program Status Update - July 2009 Fort Sill Family Housing Privatization 5445 Greble Rd Fort Sill, OK 73503 580.581.2100 www.sillpicerne.com Development & Construction Fort Sill family housing consists of 1,411 homes. In years one through seven of the project, 332 historic renovations and 556 medium renovations will be completed. In addition, 432 new homes will be constructed in the newly developed Buffalo Soldier Acres. New homes will be three and four bedroom homes with safe rooms, two living areas and upstairs washer/ dryer hookups. The new homes will consist of ap- proximately 1,900 square feet in living space. The total home inventory at the end of the Initial Development Period will be 1,728. Three neighborhood centers will be constructed. The family-centered facilities will include ameni- ties such as a workout room, media room, com- puter lab, multipurpose room with fully equipped kitchen and a large olympic-size swimming pool. Immediate improvements to playgrounds, land- scaping and signage will take place. Two duplex units have been converted to ofﬁce space, housing the Southern Plains Neighborhood Ofﬁce and Old Cavalry Post Neighborhood Ofﬁce. Two warehouse facilities have been converted to ofﬁce space for the Program Ofﬁce and Residen- tial Communities Initiative Ofﬁce. Property Management To date, our maintenance teams have completed more than 9,000 work orders and maintain a 98% on-time response rate. Grounds maintenance teams completed 13 cycles of mowing and have continued with weed control and spot spraying activities. A recycling program has been implemented with newspaper, aluminum and plastic items collected with weekly household trash. More than 50% of the fami- lies are participating in the recycling program. More than 500 families have moved into on-post hous- ing since November 1, 2008. Electric meters have been installed in all homes in or- der to obtain precise electrical consumption data and prepare for the RCI Resident Responsibility Program. Picerne Military Housing presents regular brieﬁngs at weekly newcomers orientation, monthly Garrison Command staff meetings and monthly family and com- munity life meetings. In addition, we support requests for tours and presentations from groups visiting Fort Sill from Fort Bliss as part of BRAC. Property management and maintenance staff hand de- liver monthly neighborhood newsletters to each family. Residents enjoy free activities organized by Picerne Military Housing staff including a Fall Festival, Holi- day Open House, Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Carni- val. Picerne Military Housing hosts semi-annual Neighbor- hood Talk sessions at each Neighborhood Ofﬁce and participates in the post’s quarterly Town Hall Meeting.
