Program Details The Henry County SWCD is accepting applications for its costshare programs. Stop by the office to make an application. SWCD staff will make a visit to your farm to determine what conservation practice is needed, and staff will calculate a cost estimate. The Henry County SWCD board of directors will prioritize and approve cost-share applications as funding becomes available. SWCD staff will survey and then provide a design for the cost-share practice after project approval. Work on project may begin after a costshare agreement is signed, and the design is finalized. Upon project completion, the landowner or operator is responsible for contacting the office for practice check-out and submitting project bills. The practice must meet design standards and specifications to be eligible for cost-share assistance. Payments are based on Henry County average cost figures and will be made as soon as possible after the project passes inspection, and payment forms are submitted. Contact the Henry County SWCD for conservation planning assistance to address natural resource concerns and to make an application for these state funded or other conservation programs. We work with our federal partner, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service to utilize conservation practices and programs to help with your erosion concerns.
