NOTICES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
The flowers today are given by Diane and Craig Cook in celebration of their 15th
We welcome The Reverend Dr. Jane F. Flaherty, as Celebrant and Preacher. We are happy to have Mother
Flaherty sharing with us today.
The Red White and Blue Elephant Auction and pot luck will be Sunday,
July 12. What you may ask is a Red White and Blue Auction? It is an
auction of “white elephant” items that you may have around the house.
Pick one or more items, wrap them so they can’t be identified, and
donate them to the auction. During the pot luck these items will be
auctioned to the highest bidder. What is a suitable item for the auction?
Almost anything. The item can be useful or useless, large or small. I have
seen everything from a collection of bead necklaces to crystal vases.
Anything is possible.
The proceeds will go to support Fellowship activities and the Kitchen project. This is always a fun time
to bring a friend with you to enjoy both the wonderful food and unique experience. For more information,
please contact Bill or Nancy Dusenbery at 398-1456. A sign-up sheet is on the table in the Narthex.
New Beginnings will be held on Friday, August 14 - Sunday, August 16 at Lake Springfield Baptist
Camp, Springfield, IL. The cost is $60.00 per applicant. Students in grades 7-9 are eligible to attend.
For more information see the Diocesan website www.episcopalspringfield.org. Applications can be
found in the Parish Office.
Each Month, the Food Pantry will be focusing on certain kind of items that they
will need to collect for the entire month. Also instead of leaving the donated items
in the Narthex, a table has been set up in the front of the church where we would
like you to place your donated items when you first enter the Sanctuary. After the
last Sunday Service of the month, we will gather up all the donated items and take
them to the Food Pantry. For July, we will focus on Cereal. Many thanks for
your continued support.
FORWARD DAY BY DAY:
The August, September and October Forward Day By Day is now available. You may pick up a copy
of this daily devotional in the Narthex.
VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR BELLEVILLE CHRISTIAN CENTER (BCC):
Our outreach ministry continues at the BCC located at 104 South 17th Street in Belleville. During
the months of May through July, we will suspend the meal service we have been providing on the 4th
Friday of each month. However, we will continue to meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each
month to sort donated clothing items. Please join us at 6:30PM on these evenings for a couple of
hours of service, fun, and fellowship. We anticipate returning to our monthly meal service and
clothing distribution beginning in August. Please contact Bill or Julie Armstrong at 628-7081 if you
have any questions.
ATTENTION ALL GARDENERS:
With the planting season upon us, are you aware of a program called Plant a Row for the Hungry
(PAR)? This “people-helping-people” program was launched in 1995 as a means to assist in feeding
the hungry in our communities. The O’Fallon Food Pantry will gladly accept donations of home
grown vegetables to distribute to the needy in the local area. We hope that when you are planting
your gardens this spring, you will consider planting an extra row or two to help out those who can
make good use of this food. Please contact Winn Pardee (624-3507) or Nels Wilt (632-4565) if you
have any questions
If you have not already done so, we would appreciate it if you would collect your church directory
from your mailboxes.
The back page of the Directory has down that Nancy Machmer is the Chairperson for Pastoral Care,
please change Nancy to Mary AuBuchon (589-1728). Thank you.

consider helping out if you can.
VBS as a free program to the children attending which means that St. Michael's
covers the entire cost. We would sincerely appreciate any donation you could
Everyone is welcome to join us on Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. to help with props/scenery. We
are getting a lot done and having a ball at the same time!
There is an additional sign-up sheet for scenery because we’re hoping that many of you might kindly
lend us some props to help create the feel of a “Wildwood” forest…the more we can borrow, the less
we’ll have to construct. Examples: Christmas trees, stuffed animals, artificial/real plants & trees or
anything else forest or jungle related. Please note that any loaned items will not be played with or

Schnuck's make a contribution to St. Michael's when you use your Schnuck’s Escrip card when
purchasing anything. in the store. The name implies it is only for prescriptions but it is good on all
purchases. Please pick up a card, register it and then start using it and St. Michael's will benefit. This
is an excellent program discovered by Roberta Clark and reintroduced by Jean Anderson. Please
contact either one of these ladies for more information.
