POSITION TITLE:                                         Business Administration Trainee

GRADE:                                                  Traineeship Scale

SECTION:                                                Corporate Services

DEPARTMENT:                                             Strategic and Commercial Services

ACCOUNTABLE TO:                                         Manager Corporate Services

OBJECTIVES

1. To complete Certificate III in Business Administration.

2. To assist in the proper operation of Council’s administrative systems in
   accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies.

3. To assist in the efficient operation of Corporate Support functions including word
   processing, switchboard, photocopying and mail systems.

4. To promote the image of Council as efficient, effective and courteous.


SCHEDULE OF DUTIES

1. Assist in the provision of photocopying and binding services within the
   Department.

2. Assist in the provision of word processing services within the Department.

3. Assist in the efficient collection and distribution of Council’s incoming and
   outgoing mail.

4. Assist in the coordination and preparation of Council’s Business Papers.

5. Relieve in other areas of the Department.

6. Assist in coordinating and setting up of functions and meetings.

7. Assist the Customer Service Unit in the efficient operation of cashiering and call
   centre duties.

MULTISKILLING CLAUSE

The incumbent of this position may be directed to carry out such other duties as are
within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
