Under the supervision of the Director/School Manager, the Office Assistant, in a spirit of professionalism and cooperation,
acts as the primary liaison between parents and the school in day-to-day matters of communication, provides support to
the teaching staff, and is responsible for maintaining the office and school environment.


        ISKCON member in good standing that is committed to his/her spiritual development.
        Able to pass local, state, and federal criminal background screenings.
        Good oral and written communication skills.
        US citizen or possess documentation of right to work in the US.
        Aptitude for organization and systematic operation.
        Meticulous attention to detail.
        Able to prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic workload.
        Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and online communication software.
        Cheerful disposition towards adults and easy manner with children.
        Able to follow directions.


    Follow the policies of the school and adhere to all written procedures as set down in the Bhaktivedanta Academy
        Staff Handbook.
    Be punctual and regular in attendance.
    Cooperate with parents, teachers, and school administration to maximize the efficiency and excellence of the
    Exercise tact, discretion and confidentiality.

        Cordially greet and sign-in students and visitors.
        Professionally deal with all incoming communication such as phone calls, office e-mail, and voicemail.
        Receive and appropriately file or distribute documents and funds that are delivered to the office.
        Perform regular inventory of operational and office supplies and place orders as needed.
        Handle communications to staff, parents, and community via phone, e-mail, website updates, and print.
        Coordinate classroom observation requests.
        Provide teacher support by photocopying materials, supervising students, coordinating field trips, and scheduling
         parent conferences.
        Escort students and deliver messages and items from the office to classrooms.
        Maintain office records by copying, filing, organizing, and archiving documents in paper and electronic form.
        Keep student attendance by recording absences and late drop-offs.
        Maintain a clean and professional environment in the office and the school grounds.
        Create and update all official forms and documents.
        Perform other necessary tasks as requested by the Director/School Manager.

    Participate in the school's social and community functions such as open house, fund raising, and demonstrations.
    Attend staff meetings regularly.
    Participate in beginning of the year orientation and preparation of the office and the end of the year maintenance.
