									                 Job Description for After-school Program Director
Title: After-school & Camp Program Director
Supervisor: Director of School-aged Child Care
    •   Design and implement holistic, engaging and quality after-school and summer camp
        programming, incorporating Literacy, Arts, Sports and Fitness, Recreation, Community Service
        and Leadership Development.
    •   Hire, supervise and train staff. Provide and/or oversee the weekly individual supervision to group
        leaders and unit leaders, and weekly group supervision to program aides.
    •   Assess and address the individual and collective needs of students and parents, and solicit and
        respond to their input into the program. Conduct a monthly parent meeting or family event.
    •   Collect and maintain all required records.
    •   Insure adherence to health and safety standards and regulations.
    •   Develop positive relationships with school staff, administration, and parents.
    •   Establish and conduct a monthly meeting with principal.
    •   Conduct weekly staff meetings.
    •   Collaborate fully and effectively with School-aged Child Care management team, including peer
        directors, Education Director and AmeriCorps Director.
    •   Attend all required site and agency meetings
    •   Facilitate the participation of all program staff in 15 hours of training beyond the required in-
        house training.
    •   Be aware of, and work to meet, all contractual obligations. Develop effective working
        relationships with funder representatives.
    •   With Director of SACC, manage budget and petty cash account.
    •   Conduct yourself as a representative of the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation.
    •   Other duties, as required.

Qualifications: Extensive experience with after school/extracurricular settings with elementary and
middle school aged young people. Experience with supervision of staff. Demonstrated ability with
administrative tasks. Should be enthusiastic and dedicated to program’s educational and youth
development goals. Bachelors in Education, Social Work or related filed required, Masters degree
preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
