Preschool 10:40-11:10a 11:20-11:50a Level 1/2 10:00-10:45a 11:00-11:45a Level 3 10:00-10:45a Level 4/5 11:00-11:45a COURSE DESCRIPTION AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES Preschool- Students will participate in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around the water. Children must be between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Advanced Preschool- Students will learn to enter and exit the water independently, submerge their head in a rhythmic pattern and open their eyes underwater, float on their front and back, and swim on their front and back for 15 feet without assistance. Children must be between 3 and 5 years old and have instructor approval to enroll. Level 1- Students will learn to enter and exit the water safely, open eyes underwater and blow bubbles through mouth and nose. Students will learn to float on their back and front while supported and swim on their back and front for 5 feet while supported. Water safety rules and lifejacket use will also be covered. Level 2- Students will learn to enter and exit the water independently, submerge head in a rhythmic pattern and open eyes underwater, float on their front and back without assistance, and swim on their front and back for 15 feet without assistance. Level 3- Students will learn to jump into deep water and demonstrate a head first entry into deep water from a kneeling or sitting position. Students will learn to 2 different kicks for use on their front and back, how to survival float in deep water and how to tread water. Students will learn to swim 15 yards of front crawl, back crawl, and butterfly (kick and body motion). Level 4- Students will learn to dive from a compact or stride position, swim underwater for 3 body lengths and learn how to tread water using a modified scissor, breaststroke or rotary kick. Students will learn to swim 25 yards of front crawl and back crawl, 15 yards of butterfly, breaststroke and elementary backstroke. Level 5- Students will learn how to perform a tuck and pike surface dive, how to do a flip turn while swimming on front and back, and will learn to swim 50 yards of front crawl and back crawl. Students will learn how to swim 25 yards of butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke and sidestroke. Registration Procedure 1. When the front doors open, please pick up the lesson registration paperwork located at the table in the upstairs bleacher area. 2. Fill out all the paperwork and turn it in, along with your payment, at the table located in the lobby. We can accept cash and checks only. 3. All forms and payment must be turned in to secure your child’s spot in lessons. 4. You may pick up your receipt on the first day of class. 5.
