The Grange at Oborne will provide you with the perfect venue for your whole
day: an intimate hotel in a quiet rural setting: Your guests arrive at The
Grange eagerly anticipating the day ahead. The Bride walks up the aisle, the
ceremony begins, you take your vows in front of your closest friends and
family. As a newly married couple, you wander into the beautiful gardens for
photographs whilst your guests enjoy a glass of chilled champagne and a
selection of delicious canapés. After the drinks reception, you move inside to
the elegant Regent Room for a sumptuous three-course wedding breakfast
cooked by head chef, Nick Holt. With the cake cut and the toasts finished,
why not take coffee in the floodlit gardens whilst the room is transformed for
your evening function. The band playing under the starlit ceiling, the flicker
of candles, your first dance... a truly memorable experience.

The Grange is not part of a chain of
hotels; it is a small privately owned
and family-run business. We will
meet with you as little or as much
as you like in the run up to your
wedding to create a day uniquely
designed for you. We will be there
to offer our advice and expertise to
assist you along the way. You
might wish to take advantage of
the relationship that we have with
a number of suppliers with whom
we have worked with for many years to help achieve your perfect day. We will
be in attendance on the day and with the information you have given us we
will organise and manage your wedding, creating a seamless flow of events.
You will be left to enjoy every moment with your family and friends. This ser-
vice will continue until the last guest has put down his glass and gone to bed;
every detail will be attended to.

Civil Ceremonies
The Grange at Oborne is licensed for Civil
Wedding and Partnership Ceremonies. This
enables us to host your entire day, leaving
you free to relax and enjoy every moment.
Wake up on the morning of your wedding
at The Grange. After a leisurely breakfast
relax in your bedroom before, with your
hairdressers and make-up artists in
attendance, your transformation to
glowing bride begins. Your photographer
can take pictures whilst you prepare and
there will be time for champagne with
your bridesmaids on the balcony
overlooking our beautiful gardens. When
you are ready and your groom is waiting
with your guests, it’s just a walk down the
stairs to the start of your new life

The Ceremony Rooms
We have three rooms licensed for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies at
The Grange.
The Wessex Room                                       capacity 4 - 45
The rich mahogany wood panelling creates an intimate atmosphere, perfect
for an exclusive wedding ceremony.
The Grange Restaurant                                  capacity 30 - 85
With large windows looking out onto the gardens, the restaurant is full of
character and charm.
The Regent Room                                          capacity 50 - 120
Bright and airy with a conservatory entrance to the gardens The Regent Room
is perfect for a large ceremony. Unfortunately due to the time it takes to
transform this room for a wedding breakfast, it is not possible to have a
ceremony in this room followed by the wedding breakfast.

Hotel Bedroom Accommodation

The Grange at Oborne has 18 spacious bedrooms, all en-suite and individually
furnished. Some have direct access to the gardens. The four poster bedroom
with its large balcony overlooking the floodlit gardens is a perfect place for
the bride and groom to share a bottle of champagne at the end of their special

The Reception Rooms
The Regent Room                               Capacity: Wedding Breakfast - 120,
The Regent Room, a large room overlooking the formal gardens to the rear of
the hotel. Bright and airy during the day with large windows and a
conservatory entrance to the garden. At night the room is transformed with
the starlight ceiling, making a perfect setting for your evening function.

The Wessex Room                            Capacity: Wedding Breakfast - 26,
The Wessex Room is ideal for smaller parties. It has rich mahogany wood
 panelling creating an intimate atmosphere. The Wessex Room is able to hold
up to 26 people seated around a large rectangular dining table.

Please note; as any hotel bedrooms would normally be paid for by your guests, the
above costing does not include any charges for accommodation.

Terms and Conditions - General

1.    We are licensed to serve alcohol to non-residents until midnight. The hotel has
      a 24 hour license for residents of the hotel, and their guests, at the expense of
      the resident. Therefore, after midnight, any drinks purchased must be signed to
      a room account. In accordance with licensing law, guests must at least 16 years
      of age to consume alcohol with the meal.
2.    We are happy to prepare standard place settings for your occasion. More intri-
      cate place settings are available by arrangement.
3.    We regret that all music must finish at 11.30pm.
4.    We regret that we are unable to have Fireworks at The Grange.
5.    We can provisionally hold a date for you for a period of fourteen days without
6.    The hire of the function room includes all tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery, na-
      pery and glassware normally supplied by us. Any extra requirements or any
      items requested that are not normally supplied by us will incur an extra charge.
7.    You will need to take all 18 bedrooms to have exclusive use of The Grange.
8.    For parties of 25 persons or more we require that a set menu is chosen. Guests
      with dietary requirements and allergies will be catered for separately.
9.    If your function is held between Monday and Friday: You are required to book a
      minimum of 10 bedrooms for a minimum of one night; two of these must be
      rooms 18 and 19, situated above the Regent Room.
10.   If your function is held on a Saturday you are required to book a minimum of 10
      bedrooms for a minimum of two nights; two of these must be rooms 18 and 19,
      situated above the Regent Room.
11.   The number of rooms required and the room allocation must be given to the
      hotel 8 weeks before the wedding.
12.   To avoid confusion all of the rooms held by you must be allocated by you. Any
      of your guests who approach the hotel directly will be asked to contact you.
13.   A small sample of your wedding cake will be taken and frozen and kept for a
      period of one month.

Terms and Conditions – Finances

1.    Until the exact requirements for your day have been finalised, an Agreed Cost
      will be used for the purposes of the Payment Schedule and the Cancellation Pol-
      icy. The Agreed Cost is equal to the total of:
       i.    The charge for the hire of the Function Room(s)
       ii.   The assessed cost of the Function Dinner and Beverages. For this calcula-
             tion, the cost of the function meal including all food and drinks will be
             assessed at £50.00 per person. As soon as the details of the food and
             drink for the function have been agreed, the Agreed Cost will be modified
       iii.  The charge for the hotel bedrooms being booked and paid for by your-
             selves. Bedrooms booked by you that will be paid for by your guests are
             therefore not included in the Agreed Cost.
       iv.   Civil Ceremony room hire charge, if applicable.

2.    Although the majority of the rooms are likely to be paid for by your guests, you
      will be responsible for payment of any rooms in the event of cancellation or
3.    Final numbers are due one month prior to the function date. From that date,
      we will charge for the number of guests notified to us, and no reductions can be
4.    Prices are subject to change, e.g. in the event of taxation increases or changes
      in supplier prices beyond the control of the hotel.
5.    Any extra charges will be invoiced after the function date; this amount is due 7
      days after the date of the function.
6.    We strongly recommend that you take out a comprehensive insurance policy
      against cancellation of the function.
7.    Any damage caused by the function party will be added to the final bill.

Payment schedule:

At time of booking:                       • A non-refundable deposit of £500.00
Six months prior to the function:         • 25% of the agreed cost (25% of the total,
                                            minus your £500.00 deposit)
Three Months prior to the function:       • 50% of the balance of the agreed cost is
One month prior to the function:          • 75% of the balance of the agreed cost is
Seven days after the function:            • The remaining balance will be invoice
                                            together with any extra charges incurred.

Cancellation policy:

The following amounts and percentages listed are forfeit in the event of cancellation:
At time of booking:                     • Your deposit of £500.00
Within 6 months of function date:       • 25% of the Agreed Cost
Within 3 months of the function date:   • 50% of the Agreed Cost
Within 1 month of the function date:    • 75% of the Agreed Cost
