    Hampshire.

• Two new questions were asked in the 2001 Census on people’s general health and the
provision of unpaid care. In New Forest District 92.4% of people said that their health was good
or fairly good. In response to the care question, 10.5% of people were providing unpaid care,
which was the highest proportion in Hampshire.

• The number of household spaces increased by nearly 6,000 between 1991 and 2001 to 74,835.
In the 2001 Census 1,172 of these household spaces were recorded as second or holiday

detached, terraced and flatted household spaces all decreased slightly, whilst semi-detached
    increased.

• In 2001 80.2% of the housing stock was owner-occupied, an increase of 0.75% from 1991. The

in male economic activity of 0.2%.

• Total full-time and part-time employment increased by 5.5% and 13.2% respectively, whilst the
number of self-employed increased by 8.1%. The number of economically inactive (retired,
