Kensington Village News
From the Billing Office:
Nursing Home residents in Ward Accommodation:
Remember to bring in a copy of the Notice of Assessment that will be sent by Canada Revenue after your
2009 Tax return has been submitted. This can be used for Income Testing.
Regarding Trust Accounts:
The banks have been told by their auditors that they are not to accept 3rd party cheques for deposit. For
this reason we cannot accept cheques for deposit to a trust account that are not made payable to
Kensington Village – trust account. For example, if a resident wants to deposit a GST rebate cheque they
would have to deposit it to their own personal bank account as we will not be able to deposit it to their
trust account. TD Canada Trust does come in on a monthly basis to do banking in our facility and if the
resident has an account with TD Canada Trust the cheque could be deposited with them at that time.
Changes to Our Second Floor:
We are working with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care on plans to better serve the diverse needs
of our second floor residents. In the near future this will result in some physical changes and more
targeted staffing and programming. We look forward to consulting with residents and families in the near
future, and as a first step will be speaking on this subject at the pre-arranged, incontinence meeting with
families, at 7pm on March 30th.
Social Committee Annual Garage, Bake & BBQ sale
On Saturday July 10, 2010 from 7am to 1pm in the front parking lot (Huron street entrance) the Social
Committee will be running the annual garage, bake, and BBQ sale. If you would like to donate items to our
garage sale please bring in items starting June 28, 2010. If you would like to rent a table and sell your own
items – table rental is $10.
BBQ lunch will be available from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm - $4.00 for hotdog /sausage or hamburger, drink and
chips. If you have any questions please leave your name and number at the front office for Srey Try.
If you are able to help out at this function, volunteers are much appreciated.
Healthy tip of the month:
A little stress helps to keep you sharp, but too much tension can leave you feeling overwhelmed. For quick
stress relief, take a few deep breaths, go for a short walk, or do some stretches. Strive to balance your busy
life by unwinding daily with activities such as exercises, a hobby, or a soak in the tub. Learn to prioritize
task and to say “no” rather than take on too much.
