                                                Project History
Theme Parks

Warner Brothers, Project 777, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Senior structural project manager and main
coordinator for all structural design for this new Billion Dollar WB Theme Park ion the Middle East
which includes four main attraction areas or neighborhoods. The involvement ranged from
overseeing and coordinating the design of all the buildings and structural supports in the park to the
design of four superstructure roofs over the entire park to constitute the largest covered theme park
in the world. Some of these superstructure roof enclosure main girders span for over 350 feet with
no intermediate columns.

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, Harry Potter Castle & Village (Project “Strongarm”),
Orlando, Florida. Project Manager and main coordinator for structural design of the new 10 acre attraction including
the Harry Potter village and 100,000 SF Harry Potter ride building with a 150 feet high castle icon on top. The
involvement ranged from the design of all the buildings for stringent wind load to the design of structural supports for
rockwork facades and heavy structures by vendors some of them weighing thousands of tons

Mammal Stranding Pool, Sea World of Florida, Orlando, Florida. Structural engineer-of-record
and project manager for a 200-foot by 100-foot veterinary pool and canopy, together with water
treatment tanks for the sole purpose of bringing stranded whales to be treated at Sea World. This
project, although approved by the County, has not yet started construction due to budgetary
constraints.

Sea World of Florida, Orlando, Florida. Project design engineer for a renovation of the park in
Orlando, Florida. The project consisted of the renovation of the main entrance, which required timber
design and heavy wind-load calculations, as well as totally changing the appearance of nine building
groups including additions and/or demolition. The renovation affected the ticket sales building, a new
lighthouse with a new tidal wave lake, kennel lockers, gift shops, guest services, and restrooms. Also
served as project engineer for a 20,000-square-foot warehouse building for park services and the
renovation of the aviculture building.

Fantasmic! Show at MGM/Disney Studios, Orlando, Florida. Technical leader and project
manager. Mr. Archila provided the structural engineering design for the steel framework including the
trusses and tower for the Fantasmic! supports for the dragon and the simulated mountain in the
background. This intricate web of steel was formulated to resist extreme high-velocity winds with the
aid of advanced finite-element software.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, Disney’s Character Grove Theater Expansion, Lake Buena
Vista, Florida. Technical leader. Scope of services included design of foundations and structural
framing for north and south bleachers and restroom expansion. Boyle redesigned foundations on the
south side to provide step footings, and investigated the possibility of working the foundations
around existing pipe interferences found at excavation on the north side.

Magic Kingdom Storyteller Grotto at Disney’s WDW Magic Kingdom Park, Lake Buena Vista,
Florida. Technical leader for new fountains, specialty lighting, sound systems, grading and drainage,
masonry retaining walls to 16 feet, and sheet piling designs to accommodate the landscape
architectural requirements.

Mickey’s Icon at Disney/MGM Studios Park Entrance, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Technical
leader. This project included design of structural supports for the 2-ton icon at the entrance to the
MGM-Disney Studios theme park.

Sinbad’s Village Island @ Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, Orlando, FL. Technical leader and coordinator
for structural design of the facades where involvement ranged from the design of all buildings' exterior metal stud walls
for stringent hurricane loads to the design of structural supports of building decorations (Icons), some of them weighing
several tons. Scope of services included design of the structural framing of the twisted tunnel in Building 241 which
serves as the queuing line to a roller coaster, structural support for the 1-1/2 ton cantilevered gas torches throughout the
islands, design of the light gauge framing for the pump room building and the stair enclosure on Building 231, and for
miscellaneous structural items on Buildings 236 and 242.

Office Buildings

Sarasota County Field Operations Center, Sarasota County, Florida. Project structural engineer
for a 335,000-square-foot building facility for Sarasota County . The project consists of a two-story,
steel frame building with masonry shear walls, and two metal buildings with masonry façades
interconnected. Buildings were designed to resist 157-mph hurricane winds per client’s request, and
to be able to host emergency communications and other critical hurricane rescue activities. Expected
construction of this building has been postponed indefinitely pending county budget resolution.

Maitland Professional Buildings, Maitland, Florida. Project engineer for a $4.3 million tilt-up
project consisting of three buildings: two 1-story buildings; and one 2-story building. Provided
structural design and calculations, planning with other consultants, construction administration, and
site inspections.

BIB Plaza, Orlando, Florida. Developed structural package originally designed for a three-story
office building with 180,000 square feet, and redesigned as a one-story masonry office building with
60,000 square feet.

AmSouth Banks. Responsible for the structural design of new two-story buildings and renovated
buildings, as well as prototypical one-story buildings. As engineer of record for more than 100
AmSouth bank buildings in Florida, in charge of overseeing the entire design and construction
administration of all buildings. Highlight buildings: two 2-story AmSouth Banks, one on West
Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa (masonry construction, approximately 16,000 SF, and nearly $2.5
million with completion date March 2006). The other building in Melbourne , Florida, is currently
under construction. Another two-story building was designed with a two-story parking structure in
Winter Park, Florida, but the project was never built due to budgetary problems.

Century Realty. Several retail commercial strip malls and clubhouses for this developer for several
locations in central Florida. Typically one-story masonry retail and office buildings with steel joists.

Military Design-Build Experience

200 Room Student Dormitory Building @ Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, TX (M.A. Mortenson
Company/U.S. Army Corps of Engineers [USACE]). Senior structural project manager and main coordinator for all
structural design. Responsible for production of the BIM Revit Structural model including 2D and 3D drawings for this
project.. The dorm is a three-story steel dual lateral system consisting of moment frames and ordinary braced structure
with a pitch steel roof structure. This Design Build project also involves non bearing light-gauge steel exterior studs with
brick veneer walls supported by the steel framing. Also included is a separate pavilion for a basketball court. The entire

project was developed in Revit Structure and will be converted to Bentley BIM Structural at the end of the project for the
use of the client.

White Sands Missile Range Design-Build of Company Operations Facilities (COF), White Sands, New Mexico
(M.A. Mortenson Company/U.S. Army Corps of Engineers [USACE]). Senior structural project manager and main
coordinator for all structural design. Responsible for production of the BIM Revit Structural model including 2D and 3D
drawings for this project. Issued under a multiple award task order (MATOC) contract, this task order is for the design
and construction of the COF to house company administrative operations and to store and move supplies. The COF is a
one-story structure with a mezzanine level; this Design Build project involves light-gauge steel design as well as tilt-up
concrete walls and steel framing. Also included is a pre-engineered metal canopy for which PBS&J will be providing
design of the foundation systems. The entire project was developed in Revit Structure and will be converted to Bentley
BIM Structural at the end of the project for the use of the client.

Single Award Task Order Contract (SATOC) for Warriors in Transition Facilities in the
Southeast Region, Architecture-Engineering (A-E) Services for Design-Build (D-B) of
Battalion Headquarters, Fort Jackson, South Carolina (Alutiiq, LLC/U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers). Senior structural project manager and main coordinator for all structural design.
Responsible for production of the BIM Revit Structural model including 2D and 3D drawings for this
project. Responsible for the design and analysis of structural building components including a full
steel moment-resisting frame with concrete shallow foundations, and the analysis and design of light
gage exterior walls. Also responsible for the coordination of structural components with all of the
other groups (architecture, mechanical, and electrical) working on the project. The PBS&J/Alutiiq
team will address various components, including building occupancy requirements, regional soils
and climatic conditions, facility structural considerations, HVAC systems, and exterior architectural
features. The entire project was developed in Revit Structure and will be converted to Bentley BIM
Structural at the end of the project for the use of the client.

Hospitality

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Hotel, Miscellaneous Structures Design, Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Project manager and technical leader. Mr. Archila provided the structural engineering wood design
for the supports and connections of the wooden ceiling, themed hand rails, bus stop canopy
structure, spool bar kiosk, security hut, and Porte Cochère, as well as the logistics of the logic on
erection design (each weighing 7 tons). The project provided many challenges due to the complexity
of the maze of wood logs and special conditions in many areas required by the architect, the high
gravity loads and wind loads, plus the strict demand to coordinate connection locations and exact
penetration depths with contractor to avoid snapping post-tension tendons in the supporting slabs.

Blossom Trail Hotel, Orlando, Florida. Project manager. Mr. Archila provided the structural
engineering for the light gauge façades on the complete renovation of this hotel, including a new
Porte Cochère and enclosed staircases. Design provided for the light-gauge members and
connections for 120-mph winds.

Administration, Maintenance and Operations Facilities

St. Johns County Fire Rescue Administration Building, St. Johns County, Florida. Lead
structural designer and engineer-of-record for this multi-million-dollar project that consisted of the
design and construction support of a warehouse, operations, and administration facility for the Fire
Rescue department of St. Johns County, Florida. This challenging project consisted of a two-story

building with curved tilt-up wall panels and curved steel joists. In addition to that, the majority of the
structure was designed to withstand a category 3 hurricane for winds in excess of 150 mph, whereas
a multipurpose room was designed to withstand a category 5 hurricane for winds in excess of 198
mph. This project is currently under construction.

Bus Maintenance and Operations Facility, Orange County (California) Transportation
Authority (OCTA). Lead structural designer and project manager for the design and construction
support of a bus maintenance and operations facility on a 20-acre site in the City of Santa Ana. The
facility accommodates the operation of, and maintenance of, 250 buses including 50 articulated
buses. The facility provides the operations, administration, servicing, maintenance, and fueling of
vehicles using either gasoline, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, or diesel fuel. The
facility includes a 70,000-square-foot maintenance building, with capabilities for oil change and tire
change; a 10,000-square-foot engine rebuild building; 12,000-square-foot operations building; 7,600-
square-foot fuel and vacuum building; 7,600-square-foot brake check building; 8,600-square-foot bus
wash building; and 4,000-square-foot revenue building. Seismic designs provided per UBC-97.

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Oviedo Maintenance Yard Expansion, Crew
Building and Refueling Station Renovation, Oviedo, Florida. Project manager for the expansion
of an FDOT facility. Provided cost estimates and structural design, and acted as project coordinator
among all other consultants including the architect. Involved as project engineer on other
maintenance facilities projects in Perry, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Tallahassee, as well as
welcome stations and administration buildings on I-95 and I-75 at the Florida-Georgia border.

Amoco Oil and Gas, Distribution Centers, Ocala and Vero Beach, Florida. As project engineer,
provided structural design as well as construction administration for both projects. Coordination with
the architect and civil, mechanical , electrical, geotechnical, and plumbing services.

Night Clubs

Dallas Bull Night Club, Tampa, Florida. Structural engineer-of-record and project manager of this
two-story, country music, dance night club. This is a Florida threshold building of 30,567 square feet.
The project consists of a two-story metal building with masonry walls at the elevators and staircases
with capacity for over 500 people. This building was designed to resist 120-mph hurricane winds.
Completion date: June 2006.

Chillers Bar, Orlando, Florida. Project engineer for the expansion and retrofit of a turn-of-the-
century building in the historic district of Orlando. Provided calculation and design package as well
as close planning with the owner, architect, and geotechnical engineer. Project required extremely
close coordination with the contractor owner and architect.

Medical Buildings

West Orange Medical Plaza, Ocoee, Florida. Project engineer for a $1.1 million two-story masonry
medical office building with high slope, wood roof trusses. Provided structural design and
construction administration.

Oak Reserve Office Medical Buildings, Longwood, Florida. As project engineer, provided
complete calculations and the structural design package for two- and one-story masonry buildings.

This $2.2 million project called for many special structural features that became challenging in the
design.

VA Hospital, Stony Brook, New York. Project engineer for a $1 million expansion of the hospital to
accommodate new rooms and a new MRI facility, which had to be lifted and introduced through the
roof. Provided structural design and construction administration.

Wannamaker Medical Office. Project engineer for several one- and two-story masonry medical
office buildings with high slope, wood roof trusses. Provided structural design and construction
administration for all buildings.

Aerospace Launch Facilities

Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida and Vandenberg Air Force
Base, California. Structural engineer responsible for executing structural engineering designs,
independent analysis, and concept preparation for the construction of supporting facilities for launch
operations. Designs involved massive foundations and complex retaining walls, launch platform
slabs, warehouses, steel connections and platforms in the launch complexes. Performed structural
calculations by hand and with the use of structural software such as STAAD III and RISA-3D.
Performed occasional mainframe computer finite-element models in special vulnerability studies with
I-DEAS and PATRAN 3, and analyzed with NASTRAN and ANSYS. Acted as lead interface
representative between the Air Force and site activation contractors for several retrofit programs.
Some of the facilities worked on included structural design issues for massive launch complexes
(LC-40 and LC-41) for the Titan IV program at the Cape, as well as the space launch complexes
(SLC-4E and SLC-4W) for the Titan IV program, and SLC-3E and SLC-3W for the Atlas program at
Vandenberg. Completion: 1994.

Schools

South Florida Community College Public Service Academy, Avon Park, Florida. This project
included structural engineering for a two-story, 65,000-square-foot concrete classroom facility, the
design of a breezeway canopy, and the design of a chiller building on an existing slope. Mr. Archila
served as project engineer responsible for the structural design and construction administration of
the project.

Primrose Daycare Schools, Florida, Arizona, and Georgia. Design and construction
administration of several daycare schools in three states.

Industrial

Clairson (Closet Maid International) Corporate Headquarters, Ocala, Florida. As project engineer,
provided structural design and calculations for the 80,000 sf. expansion of the existing warehouse. Exterior tilt-up
construction design including connecting to existing building & over an existing 120 ft mezzanine.

Ben-Fab Expansion of Tee Pee Facilities, Ocoee, Florida. Project engineer for 30,600 sf. new tilt-up
warehouse facility expansion with $3 million construction cost. The facility serves as a headquarters building for a large
door manufacturer.

New Ferguson Truss Assembly Facility in Green Cove Springs, Florida. Renovation of a former 180,000 sf. Food
Lyon Distribution Center. Involved design & analysis to remove X braces in several bays and replacing for K bracing &
shear walls plus creating new openings in exterior walls.

Airports

RDV “Orlando Magic” Hangar, Orlando International Airport, Orlando, Florida. Provided
structural design and acted as project engineer for the hangar building of the private airplane of the
local basketball team. Also provided, in a separate project, the structural design of the 30,000-
square-foot mansion in Isleworth, Orlando, for basketball superstar Penny Hardaway. This house
was never built.

Joplin Regional Airport- Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) & Adminstration Building, Joplin,
Missouri. Provided structural design and engineer of record for a 75 ft. high Air traffic Control Tower and a 3,000 sf.
Administration Building.

Churches

LDS Seventh Day Adventist Church, Apopka, Florida. As project engineer, provided structural
design for a 60,000-square-foot monumental church with masonry walls and exposed wood beams
and columns. Structural package included the design of retaining walls for half of the building, since
site is on a slope. Duties involved consistent coordination with project architect and engineering
disciplines.

Retail

Alpharetta Shopping Plaza Renovation, Alpharetta, Georgia. Provided structural renovation
design for a shopping center for a total of 100,000 square feet.

Westfield Shopping Center Renovation, Westfield, Massachusetts. Provided structural
renovation design for a shopping center, together with the expansion and new construction of stores,
for a total of 120,000 square feet.

Morrisons Cafeteria, Newnan, Georgia. As project engineer, provided structural designs and
calculations for a new restaurant. Also provided construction administration and coordination with
other disciplines and the contractor.

Petsmart Stores, Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida. As project engineer, provided
structural designs, calculations, and construction administration for eight new stores. Duties involved
close coordination with architect, as well as mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical, and plumbing
services.

Service Merchandise, Old Navy Clothing Store, and Ross Dress for Less at Gateway Plaza,
Sanford, Florida. As project engineer, provided structural designs, and calculations for new tilt-up-
wall retail stores. Total square footage was 80,000 square feet.

Holiday Trail Plaza, Kissimmee, Florida. Project engineer for a 40,000-square-foot retail complex
of sports stores, restaurants, and offices. Provided structural design and calculations as well as
construction administration.

Winn Dixie Supermarkets, Florida. As project engineer, provided structural designs for several
stores throughout Florida, ranging from 45,000 to 70,000 square feet. Some of these designs
included adjacent retail stores. Duties also involved construction administration, site inspections, and
close coordination with the architects and other engineering disciplines.

Walgreens Drug Stores, Florida. Project engineer for several stores throughout Florida. Provided
structural designs, construction administration, and site inspections. Duties also involved close
coordination with architect and other engineering consultants.

A&P Supermarkets, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Louisiana, Georgia, and Virginia. As project
engineer, provided structural designs not only for the different prototypes (40,000, 50,000, and
65,000 square feet), but also for several A&P, Superfood Market, and Superfresh stores. Duties also
involved construction administration and close coordination with architect and other engineering
services.

Payless Shoes Expansion, Kissimmee, Florida. Project engineer for the expansion of a retail
store. Provided structural design and calculations, as well as construction administration.

Panda Express Restaurants, Florida. Responsible for overseeing the design of a prototypical store
and for the construction administration of six store rollouts in Florida.

Staple’s Stores, Florida and South Carolina. Design of Renovation and new stores in Florida and
South Carolina. The most challenging project was the conversion of four existing 60-year-old
adjacent buildings into one 45,000-square-foot Staple's building in Charleston, South Carolina. Part
of the challenge was the inadequate structural condition of the existing building(s) from a
construction point of view, the original code requirements to bring the buildings to the much stricter
International Building Code 2003, and the stiff seismic provisions for Charleston. Mr. Archila
provided a calculation and design package as well as close planning and coordination with the
owner, architect, and geotechnical engineer. He also designed and coordinated the conversion via
shoring and demolition of bearing walls by reinforcing remaining elements into new supports, such
as new 25 span C-channel lintel assemblies above new openings and adding new steel columns, as
well as the design of new pile and cap foundations supporting extremely heavy existing concrete
roofs. Project also required close construction administration and communication with the contractor.
Completion date March 2006.

Arby’s. Responsible for overseeing the design and construction administration of renovation and
prototypical stores in several states.

Advance Auto Parts, Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. Responsible for overseeing the design and
construction administration of renovation and prototypical stores.

Applebee’s, Florida. Responsible for overseeing the design and construction administration of
renovation and prototypical stores.

Buffalo Wild Wings, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Conversion of two stores into one via shoring and
demolition of bearing walls by reinforcing remaining elements into new supports, such as new 20
span C-channel lintel assemblies above new openings and adding more capacity to existing
columns, as well as the design of foundation expansions.

Friday’s, Orlando, Florida. Renovation of store entrances in Orlando, encompassing the addition of
new entrance high towers and dormers to match the company’s new look. Towers had to be
connected to the existing roofs via reinforcing existing and creating new support members, coupled
with having to meet the new strict Florida Building Code wind requirements.

Antenna Communication Towers

Structural Analysis and Vulnerability Study for 15 Antenna Towers, Northern California.
Project engineer for the analysis of 15 steel towers for Interconco, Inc. The analysis entailed
conducting a full structural analysis by developing a finite-element model from existing and/or
collected data on each antenna tower and computing their expected structural capacity based on the
field report and measurements obtained from Interconco, Inc. This was accomplished by inputting
existing gravity loads for each antenna and their appurtenances and exploring different possibilities
of loading conditions from required wind loads in conformance with ANSI/TIA/EIA-222-F-1996, as
well as seismic loads per Uniform Building Code (UBC) 1994 requirements. The following are the
towers analyzed under this project: Cordelia, Grizzly Peak, Rocky Ridge, Round Top Towers 1 and
Tower 2, San Bruno Mount Towers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10, Sunol Ridge and Vollmer Peak.

Stadiums

Orlando Citrus Bowl, Orlando, Florida. Miscellaneous structural steel/concrete repairs under
continuing professional consulting agreement. As project leader. Mr. Archila provided miscellaneous
structural engineering services ranging from condition surveys and evaluations to designing large
permanent repairs to structurally damaged areas, and construction administration for the problems
identified regarding decaying sections of the Citrus Bowl. These services always required a quick
initial response, fast turnaround, and tight schedule due to the scheduling of games. Mr. Archila
acted as project leader and had many commendations from the client.

Parking Structures

City of Orlando Parking Structures, Orlando, Florida. Miscellaneous structural services under
continuing professional consulting agreement. Project manager and technical leader. Mr. Archila
provided miscellaneous structural engineering services including condition surveys and
recommendations, design modifications, and construction administration for different city parking
structures. The projects ranged from condition surveys on problems reported in selected city parking
structures, to recommendations on special-needs study regarding the remaining capacity of a
ground-level wall of which a portion was required to be removed at the Orlando Science Center
Parking Structure.

Civil Stormwater Structures

Alligator Creek Channel B Improvements, Clearwater, Florida. Structural. This project consists of
two phases to address severe erosion in a natural channel in an urbanized section of Pinellas
County. Boyle provided a preliminary design report for 1 mile of channel improvements and
construction plans for emergency box culvert installation in 1,000 feet of highly eroded canal. The
design consisted of a new dual box culvert that includes hydraulic modeling, permitting, and
structural design, bid documents and construction phase services on an abbreviated schedule.

Bill Heard Chevy New Car Dealership, Lakeland, Florida. Structural engineer. This project
consists of the design of the new car dealership. Specifically, the effort will include coordination with
civil, SWFWMD, ACOE, Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission, and the Florida
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in the design of a 180-foot box culvert structure and
retaining walls.

FDOT District Five Repair Weir 39th Street Pond on SR 500. Structural engineer. This project
consisted of the preparation of engineering plans and maintenance contract package for the repair of
the weir at the 39th Street Pond on SR 500. All the structural work was performed by Mr. Archila in
this project.

Universal Studios Pond Relocation and Canal Realignment, Orlando, Florida. Senior structural
engineer for the design of a stormwater treatment lake to replace two existing stormwater treatment
facilities (Ponds 4 and 5), and the realignment of a drainage canal to divert flow away from a future
construction site at Universal Studios, Inc., south campus site. The task involved coordination with
the Universal design team, other design consultants, and regulatory agencies, development of
conceptual alternatives & final design of the rerouted canal. Responsible for the planning, design,
and construction administration services for the construction of the realignment of a portion of the
Newover Canal at an attenuation lake known as SFA 1 within the southeastern parcel. Mr. Archila
designed all the headwalls, box culverts, pump stations, and retaining walls.

Docks

Clermont Utility, Roadway and Dock Projects, Clermont, Florida. Senior structural engineer for
the design and construction administration of a slip floating boat dock with a fixed dock connecting to
the shore at Waterfront Park.

Water and Wastewater Facilities and Tanks

Peace River Option, Peace River Wastewater Treatment Plant, Regional Water Supply Facility
Expansion, Arcadia, Florida. Senior structural engineer for the expansion of the Peace River
Regional Water Supply Facility to a firm capacity of 18 mgd. The project includes raw water pumping
and transmission, reservoir pumping and pipeline, 12-mgd surface water treatment plant, and 12
aquifer storage-recovery wells. Mr. Archila provided the structural engineering leadership in the
services provided, which included the design and construction administration of this $300 million
expansion.

Polk County Northeast Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, Polk County,
Florida. As project structural engineer, designed the 200-foot-long by 160-foot-wide concrete
chlorination tank with up to 21-foot-high walls. Also provided the structural design for three process
buildings that entailed masonry wall design and special roof load design. This project included the
expansion and upgrade of a wastewater treatment plant from 0.6 mgd to 2 mgd with advanced
secondary treatment for reclaimed water quality. Treatment units included headworks, EIMCO
carrousel aeration with internal denitrification, clarification, ABW filtration, chlorine contact, transfer
pumping, ground storage, reclaimed water pumping, percolation ponds, biosolids thickening and
aerobic digestion.

Punta Gorda Wastewater Treatment Plant, Punta Gorda, Florida. As technical leader, Mr. Archila
provided the structural engineering leadership for the design and construction administration of a
new pretreatment structure, the modification of an existing chlorine contact tank, and the design of
an effluent pump station building. The project was an expansion of an existing treatment plant. This
project included the planning, design, permitting, and construction phase services of the Phase I
modification to the City of Punta Gorda’s secondary WWTP and effluent disposal through deep well

injection. Phase I includes modifications to the chlorine contact tank, a new effluent injection well
pumping station, new pretreatment structure providing influent screening and grit removal, new plant
water pumping station, new VFD pumps at the existing irrigation pump station, and pipeline from the
irrigation pump station to the WWTP facility. The WWTP is currently permitted at 3.2 mgd. The
Phase I design included arrangements for convenient future expansion to 4.0 and 6.0 mgd.

Apopka Wastewater Treatment Plant, No. 2, Reuse Expansion, Apopka, Florida. Senior
structural engineer for the structural, electrical, mechanical, civil, and process preliminary
engineering and final design for upgrade of 2-mgd, secondary wastewater treatment plant by
providing tertiary treatment consisting of filters and a chlorine contact chamber. The reclaimed water
produced by the plant was to be used for public access areas. Work also involved new reclaimed
water storage and pumping facilities. All structural design and construction administration was
performed by Mr. Archila in this project.

Orange County Eastern and Western Regional Water Supply Facilities Phase 2B Expansion,
Orlando, Florida. Structural engineer in charge of this project, which consisted of the expansion of
the existing water treatment facility from 20-mgd to 50-mgd rated capacity. It included six new raw
water wells, approximately 5 miles of raw water pipelines, 30 mgd of new aeration and air quality
control, 40 mgd of additional high-service pumping capacity, and 5 mg of additional finished water
storage. It also included the expansion of the existing chemical system and addition of sodium
hypochlorite, ammonium hydroxide, and fluoride facilities. Most of the structural design and
construction administration was performed by Mr. Archila in this project.

Clermont East Side WRF Expansion, Clermont, Florida. Senior structural engineer in connection
with the design of a 2-mgd expansion and upgrade of the City's East Side WRF. This $8.7 million
project included biological nutrient removal for nitrogen control. Facilities designed included a new
preliminary treatment structure, featuring mechanical screening and grit removal; an integral pre-
anoxic/oxidation ditch, secondary clarifiers, and filters; chlorine contact; transfer pumping;
conversion of existing tanks to sludge thickening/aerobic digestion system; sludge dewatering;
chemical handling facilities; operations building, and other improvements. The reclaimed water
produced by the East Side WRF must be compatible with disposal by public access reuse and rapid
infiltration. All the structural work was performed by Mr. Archila in this project.

Venice Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion, Venice, Florida. Senior structural
engineer for permitting, preliminary, and final design of a 3-mgd expansion of the wastewater
treatment plant and reclaimed water irrigation improvements to a 6-mgd capacity. This $13 million
project involved the expansion of the preliminary treatment; Bardenpho/Carrousel facilities, including
enhancements to improve biological nutrient removal capabilities; secondary clarifiers and filters;
disinfection; sludge thickening; and other miscellaneous improvements. Mr. Archila designed most of
the tank and building structures in this plant.

Winter Garden- Crest Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plan Expansion, Winter Garden, Florida.
Structural engineer for services in connection with the Crest Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant
expansion. Services included the preparation of the conceptual design report, and the FDEP
wastewater permit package. Following the City’s decision to conventionally bid the project instead of
using the design-build approach, Boyle completed final design documents and bid this $9.1 million
plant expansion. Facilities included a new screening and grit-removal structure, a new dual-train five-
stage BNR process incorporating fine-bubble diffused aeration, additional clarifiers, filters and

biosolids stabilization facilities, and a new operations building. Modifications to retrofit the existing
liquid treatment train to a five-stage BNR process were also designed. The capacity will be increased
from 2 to 4 mgd with provisions for future expansion to 6 mgd. Mr. Archila designed most of the
tanks and buildings in this plant.

Oviedo Mitchell Hammock Water Treatment Facility, Oviedo, Florida. Structural engineer. Boyle
was retained by the City of Oviedo to provide preliminary and final engineering design services for
the City's new 10-mgd Mitchell Hammock Water Treatment Facility, which is designed to treat
ground water containing hydrogen sulfide using a forced-draft aeration process. The facility was
master-planned for a future expansion (up to 16-mgd) that included the addition of nanofiltration for
carbon and hardness removal. This project also included a desktop evaluation to evaluate available
odor control methods, pilot scale and pilot testing, and a water quality evaluation program focusing
on the City's groundwater supply. Mr. Archila designed all the structures in this project.

Polo Davenport Water System Improvement Well Replacement, Polk County, Florida. Senior
structural engineer. This project consists of the design, permitting, bidding, and construction-related
services for the construction of the Polo Davenport water system improvements. Mr. Archila
designed all the structures in this project.
Mr. Archila has also provided the structural engineering leadership in the design and construction administration of
several additional multi-million-dollar expansions of waste water treatment plants, such as Polk County Waverly
Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion and Lake Wales, both in Florida.
