agriculture using the FAAP principles

• The past 3 decades innovation focussed on
  research to generate technologies
      – registered several successes in crop & animal breeding,
soil fertility & NR management, policies & pest/disease
        management
      – successes have not been widely adopted across the
continent thus undermining the impact of the innovations
• We want to have more innovations built on past
  successes & addresses constraints concerning:

1. Increasing investment & 3. Policies and markets
   mobilizing resources
                                               4. Human & institutional capacity

• After almost 8 years of endorsement of CAADP, investors are
getting worried, at the same we have to manage the
financial crisis as it moves deeper into African economy
• We need stronger commitment and increase ownership
which can be measured by the amount of investments in
    time, human and financial resources
