 (101) and cruise lines (53) call at British
ports, with the average number of
passengers per port of call also increasing
            by 50% to 12,000.
The last five years have seen significantly more ships
entering the European market with increased
passenger sourcing from Europe and the UK. Northern
Europe (UK, Baltic, Fjords and close Continental ports)
have seen nearly 40% growth in cruise berths since
 From 2009 to 2012, 38 cruise vessels have been scheduled
for delivery, with capacity for 84,460 passengers.
 18 of these ships with 38,900 berths (46%) are primarily for
the European source market, representing investment of €7.1
 This new investment underlines the cruise industry’s
continuing commitment to the future of its business both in
Europe and elsewhere in the world.
