2. Presentation on Efforts Related to Affordable Housing Near Transit ............................. 2:15 p.m.
     Rodney Harrell, AARP Public Policy Institute
     Kate Davidoff, MWCOG Dept of Community Planning and Services
     The AARP recently released a report highlighting the fact that federal subsidies for a significant number of
     affordable housing units across the nation that are located near public transit are set to expire within the next
     five years. Mr. Harrell, one of the lead authors, will present some of the report’s key findings. The MWCOG
     Housing Directors Advisory Committee will discuss this report at their meeting earlier in the day on
     November 19, 2009, and COG staff will brief the AFA Committee on their conversation.

3. Review of Draft AFA Letter to WMATA Regarding MetroAccess .................................. 2:50 p.m.

     Wendy Klancher, MWCOG Dept of Transportation Planning
     In light of the economic challenges facing WMATA as it tries to maintain service for all its users in the face
     of looming budget deficits, the AFA will submit a letter to WMATA highlighting the importance of its
     MetroAccess service for many of the transportation disadvantaged people living in the region. AFA members
     will be asked to review and provide comment on a draft letter.

4. Presentation on Public Outreach for the 2010 CLRP Update ........................................... 3:10 p.m.
     John Swanson, MWCOG Dept of Transportation Planning
     The 2010 Constrained Long-Range Plan (CLRP) Update is approaching and COG staff will discuss their
     plans for public outreach relating to this effort.

5. Status Update on Accessible Taxi Cabs Pilot Project ......................................................... 3:35 p.m.
     Wendy Klancher, MWCOG Dept of Transportation Planning
     COG staff will report on progress related to the Accessible Taxi Cabs Pilot Project being funded through the
     New Freedom Program.

6. Review of 2010 AFA Meeting Schedule ............................................................................... 3:50 p.m.
     Catherine Hudgins, AFA Chair
     The proposed 2010 meeting schedule for the AFA Committee will be presented.
