DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS Department of Residence Life Housing Assignments Welcome to Texas A&M University on-campus housing! Although a temporary assignment is not listed as a roommate, please understand that it may be necessary to place a third person in your room. If a third person is assigned to your room, a letter of notification will be sent to you by mid-August. HOWDY: Volunteers will be available beginning 8 a.m. Sunday, August 23rd in all campus residence hall areas to help unload cars, carry belongings to rooms and assist new and returning students back to Aggieland. HALL CHANGE REQUESTS There will be an opportunity for you to request a hall change on the first day of classes, Monday, August 31, 2009. Hall change requests are processed according to your original housing application priority date. We cannot guarantee that all requests will be approved. Please look for more information at check-in. ROOM CHANGE REQUESTS If you wish to request a room change within your assigned hall, please consult your hall staff during check-in. Failure to receive proper approval for a room change will result in a fee assessed to your student account. NO-SHOWS You must officially check-in with your hall staff by 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2009. Unless notification of late arrival is received by the Housing Assignments Office or the hall staff of your assigned hall, failure to check in by the above date and time will result in forfeiture of your room deposit and your space will be reassigned to another student. CANCELLATIONS Please let us know as soon as possible if you decide not to accept your room assignment. Canceling on or after the first day of classes will result in a prorated rent charge. All cancellation requests must be made in writing (by mail, e-mail, online or fax) to the Housing Assignments Office. Cancellations cannot be accepted over the phone. Cancellation will result in housing deposit forfeiture per Housing Contract terms. If you have questions, or need additional information, please contact the Housing Assignments Office staff.
