Elixirs of Life – Wine Tasting Sensation

Whistler Wellness Fair
May 28-June 6, 2011
Body, beatify and betterment are the focus of over 100 seminars presented by local and international
speakers as part of the eight annual Whistler Wellness Festival. This is a full week of health, wellness and

Whistler Street Entertainment
May – September, 2011
Whistler Street Entertainment, supported by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, brings you free, family-
friendly events, attractions and performers every weekend from mid-May through September. Whistler
Street Entertainment animates the walkways of Whistler Village and provides interactive entertainment by
performers from the Seas to Sky corridor and touring artists from across Canada. Entertainment includes
juggling acts, circus performers, musicians, bike stunt riders, dancers and acrobats.

Whistler Art Workshops on the Lake
May 15 – August 22 2011
What better way to find artistic inspiration but to situate oneself in the picturesque and peaceful
surroundings of Whistler’s Alta Lake? Two to four-day workshops are offered in acrylic, watercolour and
oil painting, as well as sketching and life drawing, for beginner to advanced artists throughout the
summer. Alta Lake Station House is a rustic heritage home on the shores of Alta Lake with views of
Whistler, Blackcomb and Wedge Mountains. Instructors from across the country provide students with a
unique opportunity to experience one-on-one instruction on a variety of tips, techniques and styles.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, from late June until early September, Whistler Blackcomb
hosts an incredible alpine dining experience at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain. Diners

Whistler Farmers' Market
June 19 – October 9, 2011
The Whistler Farmers' Market returns to the pedestrian streets of the Upper Village (near the Fairmont
Chateau Whistler) every Sunday this summer, featuring local produce from the Pemberton Valley and
beyond, tasty artisan foods, live cooking demos by Whistler Chefs and live music. The market offers a
selection of crafts, organic and local produce, jams, honey, baked goods, jewellery and much more.

The North Face Whistler Half Marathon
June 4, 2011
The inaugural North Face Whistler Half Marathon will see hundreds of runners take to a 2.1 kilometre
course through Whistler’s Village and neighbourhoods. The scenic course winds alongside glistening
lakes, glacier fed rivers, below snow covered peaks and through stands of giant fir and cedar trees.

Whistler International All Star Hockey Tournament
June 18 – July 11, 2011
The Whistler International All Star Hockey Tournament is an elite youth tournament designed to bring
together hockey players with a high level of commitment to their sport. Whistler has hosted this event,
known as one of the best summer hockey competitions in North America, since 1992.

ArtWalk
July 1 – August 31, 2011
ArtWalk features regional artists and artisans in host ‘galleries’ throughout Whistler Village including
cafés, retail outlets, hotels and restaurants, during July and August. Artists from Lions Bay to Lillooet
showcase works of painting, photography, multi-media, fibre arts, sculpture, pottery and jewellery.
ArtWalk bridges the gap between tourism, business and culture in this free two-month walking tour that

Canadian National BBQ Championships
July 30-31, 2011
Every August, Canada's most talented grillers come out to showcase their best BBQ at the Canadian
National BBQ Championships at Dusty's Bar and Grill in Whistler Creekside. This fun and festive event
lasts all weekend, with three competitions on Saturday building up to the main cook-off on Sunday.
Events include live music and entertainment, food tastings and the chance to watch some of Canada's

Feast in the Mountains

Ride of the Valkyries and Ken Quon Memorial Ride

The classic Cheakaumus Challenge mountain bike race returns with a new name and course! Now in its

23 year, the race winds through the finest trails in Whistler and beyond with 45 to 55 kilometres of total
riding. The race is a true test for mountain biking enthusiasts, with big climbs and high speed rolling
terrain. The Ken Quon Memorial Ride, previously known as Cheakamus Lite, offers a shorter 40 kilometre

Whistler Children’s Art Festival
August 13-14, 2011

Slow Food Cycle Sunday

Slow Food Cycle Sunday is a scenic and flat 26km bike ride through the heart of Pemberton's farmland,
just 35km north of Whistler. Cyclists take a pedal-powered trip through the natural buffet that is
Pemberton Meadows farmland to meet local growers and sample produce fresh from the field such as
organic blueberries, hazelnuts, garlic, potatoes, greens, beef, and more, as participating farms, chefs and

Jazz on the Mountain at Whistler
September 2-4, 2011
This September, music lovers experience the sounds of jazz while taking in beautiful alpine vistas with the inaugural
