1. Save an image (in .jpeg format) to a local
drive that you will use to shape your word
     cloud.

2. Go to http://tagxedo.com . If your computer
does not have Microsoft Silverlight (free) you
will be prompted to download when you go
     to create your word cloud.

3. Click on the “create” button (see diagram 1).

4. Click on the Load button (see diagram 2).
This is where you can type or paste in the
     words you use.

5. Click submit and close the box on the
translucent pop-up for the loading of words.

6. Click on the “shape” tool. (see diagram 2)
and upload the image you would like your
word cloud to look like. (from step 1)

7. Use the tools under “Respins” to change the
     color, the theme (multi-colors), font,
orientation (vertical, horizontal, mixed), or a
     total random change with layout.

8. If the shape does not appear as clear as
you’d like, try one of the following under the
     “Word and Layout options”:

      • Allow a greater word count by sliding
the tool to the right. For a complex
image like a face, you’ll need it all the
           way to the right.
      • Increase the tightness to which the
words need to stay to the outline of
the image. You can go much greater
           than 100% if needed.
      • Click yes on “allow replication”. This
will use some words a second time if
needed, to get in tight spots.

9. When complete, click the accept button and
     close the translucent word/layout options
window. The word art will reload.

10. Save your word art by going to the
    “Save/Share/Print” tool.

11. Here you can download the image as a high
resolution JPEG or Gif file format. You can
save this to a public gallery that includes a
link (make sure to hit the submit button
below the description). You can even click
the advanced tab and get an embed code for
putting this on a blog or wiki page.
