The current constrained global economy and relatively low oil price will not change the long-term bright picture of global offshore and deepwater industry. The multiple role of Asia Pacific region filling on the deepwater world stage is that of a thirsty energy consumer driven by China & India and that of construction contractor for global heavy marine vessels. Cost-cutting is inevitable at the difficult times while novel technology base and proved expertise will eventually sustain the future of the offshore and deepwater industry.
