ICT-PR-005: Registration and Management of Internet Domain Names
Feedback on draft for consultation

Registration and Management of Internet Domain Names is a new procedural policy which outlines
DETA requirements for Internet domain name management and registration. This is in response to
Information Standard 39: Domain Names which requires DETA to have a “policy for management of domain
names outside of qld.gov.au and qld.edu.au”.
Although IS39 requirements are not placed upon statutory authorities, it is considered that TAFEs in their
new status would benefit from adopting consistent domain name management practices. Therefore, TAFEs
are scoped in this policy and included in the consultation process.
This consultation seeks feedback on the draft procedure before final approval and implementation.
On completion of this questionnaire, please email to Lyndall Davies, Principal Advisor, Information
Technology Services, Strategic Information and Technologies, Department of Education, Training and the
Arts Email: lyndall.davies@deta.qld.gov.au Your privacy and opinion will be protected.
Enquiries can be directed to tel. 07 340 55691
Thank you for your time. Consultation will continue until 27 March 2009.
