							That DAMN Contest
             Calling all pilots!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s THAT time of year
 again… it’s “HAMMER” time… time to compete
in That DAMN Contest again, and it’s sure to be
                the best time you
             could have flying; EVER.
New blood on the Coordination Staff (our very
own Hammerhead), seasoned officials, improved
 Speed-Gliding & Spot Landing courses, etc…
              Do NOT miss out.
 This contest is not ALL about the competition;
it’s about flying the beautiful Santa Barbara
mountains, sporting a great T-shirt, having a few
          laughs, and the Post-Party!!!
Everyone participating WILL be a winner!
                 That DAMN Contest

*Cost to enter on any day of The Contest (Sat, Sun or Mon) = $25

 CLASSES: Intermediate & Advanced. Pilots choose which class to compete in
($20* per class). No beginners… once entered in to this contest,
you’re no longer a beginner! No segregation; pilots compete with
wing of choice (hang or para glider) per event.

 SCORING: The Contest consists of five (5) separate events; Speed-Gliding,
                 Open-Distance, Timed X-Country, Endurance & Spot-Landing.
Pilots may perform in as many events as desired. Each event has
a separate points system; total competition points are cumulative
(i.e.: sum of points earned in each event participated = total score).

 RULES: All flights (subsequently, all turn-points and landings) will be judged
by The Contest Administrator, Officials, and participants. The
validity and consequence of all disputes will be decided by The
                 Contest Administrator.

It is encouraged that pilots announce (via HAM radio @ 144.250
MHz) their arrival at each turn-point (name, turn-point, Heading).

Apart from lack of funds/participants or extreme weather, The
Contest will be held February 19th thru 21st, 2005; only the order of
events, turn-points and/or landing zones will be revised (by The
Contest administrator). Speed Gliding may be run on multiple days
(see the detailed Speed Gliding launch description).

These are the rules; revision 110
