You have already studied the Roman geography, government, and religion. The following presentation (please click on the Roman Republic to Empire content button below this button) should tie the information together in a chronology of how Rome developed over time. What reforms did Augustus make to stabilize the empire and lead to a golden age called the Pax Romana? He brought a more peaceful approach to many of the Romans problems. What was the problem of succession that the Roman emperors faced?
They faced a problem of a very poor class composed of mainly farmers. 9. What major building projects were accomplished during the Silver Age towards the end of the Pax Romana? Pantheon and Parthenon 10. What were the Crises of the 3rd Century? Military Anarchy 11. In addition to the weaknesses in Rome, what other factor caused the Germanic tribes to invade Italy? Because the Romans were strong and kept pushing back on the Germanic tribes.
