1. The Omen ***** The Thornes seem to have it all except children. When Katharine has a stillborn child, Robert is approached by a priest at the hospital who suggests that he take a healthy newborn whose mother has just died in childbirth. Without telling his wife he agrees. But then strange events and the ominous warnings of a priest lead him to believe that the child he took from that Italian hospital is the antichrist. 2. Rosemary's Baby ***** Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse move into a creepy old apartment in Manhattan. They discover that their neighbors are a very friendly but nosy elderly couple named Roman and Minnie Castevet. Guy becomes enchanted by them. Soon after, strange things start to happen. Rosemary starts to have strange dreams and hears strange noises while Guy becomes remote and distant and closer to the elderly couple. Then Rosemary becomes pregnant after a bad dream in which an ungodly creature makes love to her. A caring Minnie keeps giving her some weird concoction for the pregnancy that makes her ill. Rosemary questions the intentions of the elderly couple and begins to suspect that they have special plans for her child. 3. The Exorcist ***** A movie actress taking up temporary residence in Washington D.C. has her troubles. The script for the movie she's filming seems inadequate. Her ex, who is also the father of her adolescent daughter, Regan, neglects to call the girl on her birthday. And the attic has rats. Meanwhile, Father Karras, a priest and a psychiatrist, is losing his faith; and he's dealing with a sick mother who needs medical care he hasn't the money to provide. Another priest, the old and ailing Father Merrin, has just returned from Iraq with forebodings of evil. These three persons meet when the sweet and cheerful Regan turns foul-mouthed and violent. But her sickness is beyond the reach of a medical doctor or a psychiatrist. What Regan needs is an exorcist. Written by J. Spurlin 4. He then tells them that he believes Ivy is the reincarnation of his daughter Audrey Rose. But they just think he's crazy until Ivy's nightmares grow worse and more violent running around and banging her hands at the window. Could Hoover's story of reincarnation be true...? 5. Jaws ***** When a great white shark menaces the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist, and a grizzled fisherman set out to stop it. This ground-breaking film set
the standard for scary creature-features to come. The musical theme has become a part of our culture. This is on the American Film Institute’s list of 100 best movies. 6. Alien Quadrilogy ***** In the near future, during its return to the earth, a commercial spaceship Nostromo intercepts a distress SOS from a distant planet. The seven-member crew are woken up from the hypersleep and the spaceship subsequently descends on the planet. While exploring the planet, a three-member team of the crew discovers a derelict spaceship and a huge chamber inside it containing thousands of eggs. When a curious team member goes too near the egg the parasite inside the egg attacks him, rendering him unconscious. He is brought back aboard, the spaceship takes off. After a little while the parasite dies and his host wakes up seemingly unruffled. But other crew members are unaware of the living nightmare which is going to descend upon them when the alien creature planted inside its unfortunate host would emerge. Written by Soumitra 7. The Shining ***** A novelist - Jack Torrance take a job interview as winter caretaker of the isolated, old, huge and beautiful Overlook Hotel. In the interview, Jack is told by the manager himself, that the previous caretaker - Grady, chopped his family and later killed himself with a shotgun. Ignoring the story, Jack brings his wife - Wendy and his son Danny. It happens that Danny, has a mysterious power known as "The Shining" that shows him things from the past and future. Some of the visions come from Tony - "the little boy who lives in Danny's mouth". Danny meets Hallorann - the hotel cook in their first day arriving at the Overlook, who also has this "Shining" and he warns him about the hotel and the sinister Room 237. As the days go by, Danny has visions of previous guests and employees who died at the hotel years before, meanwhile Jack starts driving into insanity, turning more and more aggressive, at the point that Danny and Wendy gets convinced that Jack might try to do the same thing, Grady did. This fear causes him to follow his brother to a funeral, where Mike witnesses the Tall Man lift a coffin on his own. Mike decides to investigate and discovers a horrible world where the Tall Man, along with his flying spheres, shrink the dead to half their normal size and reanimate them as slaves. Coma *** Dr Susan Wheeler is devastated when her best friend is pronounced brain dead after minor surgery at her hospital. Looking at the records, Susan finds that over the previous year a number of other fit young people have ended up the same way. She comes across two similarities to the cases - they all took place in the same operating theatre, and all the comatose bodies were moved to somewhere called the Jefferson Institute. Poltergeist ***** While living an an average family house in a pleasant neighborhood, the youngest daughter of the Freeling family, Carol Anne (Heather O'Rourke), seems to be connecting with the supernatural through a dead channel on the televison. It is not for long when the mysterious beings enter the house's walls. At first seeming like harmless ghosts, they play tricks and amuse the family, but they take a nasty turn- they horrify the family to death with angry trees and murderous dolls, and finally abduct Carol Anne into her bedroom closet, which seems like the entrance to the other side. Brett Camber is a young boy whose only companion is a Saint-Bernard named "Cujo", who in turn is bitten by a rabid bat. Whilst Donna's husband's Vic is away on business thinking over his marital troubles, Donna and her 5year-old son Tad take her car to Brett Cambers' dad's car shop... the car fails and "Cujo" is very, very sick... There is a huge responsibility in looking after Gizmo as there are certain rules which must be followed. The Mogwai must be kept away from bright light, never made wet and never, ever be fed after midnight. 15. Fright Night **** For Charlie Brewster (William Ragsdale), nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. When two strange man move next door and Charlie sees red eyes
picking through his neighbor window he suspects that his next door neighbor Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon) may be a vampire. When mysterious deaths of girls around the area are reported and Dandridge himself confronts Charlie in his own bedroom one night and tries to kill him, Charlie concludes that he's neighbor is in fact a vampire and must be destroyed. But nobody believes his story. He then tries to enlists the help of Peter Vincent, the vampire killer from his favorite horror TV show, who is in fact skeptical himself about the existance of vampires until... 16. Lifeforce *** Halley's Comet returns to the solar system and the team of the shuttle "Churchill", making a close-up survey of the comet, discovers an alien spacecraft in the head of the comet. Inside the spacecraft are some large bat-like creatures and in three cocoons are three "dead" humans - two men and a woman. The "Churchill" takes the humans and a creature back to Earth. There the bosses of the project are amazed to find the shuttle burnt out and all but one of the crew - Carlsen - dead. The humans from the spacecraft suddenly awake and all those who come into contact with them are drained of their "lifeforce" and in time all the victims - including most of the population of London - are turned into zombies all preying on the horrified survivors for their "lifeforce". It's up to Carlsen and Major Caine of the SAS to stop them before the whole world turns into a big blood-hunt... Written by Lee Horton 17. Once Bitten *** The Countess has a problem. She is a 400 year old vampire who will cease to look young unless she is able to feed on a virgin three times before Halloween, a week away. She sends Sebastian and all of her lesser vampires out to find one. Finding a virgin is difficult in Los Angeles. Mark has a problem. He wants to 'do it' with Robin in the worst way, but she wants to wait. Jamie and Russ, Mark's goofy friends convince him to go to a Hollywood pick up spot where Mark meets the Countess, on the prowl. After a night at the Countess's place strange things start to happen. The Fly *** Seth Brundle, a brilliant but eccentric scientist attempts to woo investigative journalist Veronica Quaife by offering her a scoop on his latest research in the field of matter transportation, which against all the expectations of the scientific establishment have proved successful. Brundle thinks he has ironed out the last problem when he successfully transports a living creature, but when he attempts to teleport himself a fly enters one of the transmission booths, and Brundle's DNA is reassembled with the DNA of the fly. He then has to fight to maintain his identity and not let the fly take over. This Science-Gone-Mad film is the source of the quotable quote "Be afraid. Be very afraid." Written by Mark Thompson 19. House **** Roger Cobb is a Vietnam vet whose career as a horror novelist has taken a turn for the worse when his son Jimmy mysteriously disappears while visiting his aunt's house. Roger's search for Jimmy destroys his marriage and his writing career. The sudden death of his aunt brings Roger back to the house where his nightmares began. Strange things
start happening around him; little things at first, but as they become more frequent, Cobb becomes aware that the house resents his presence. 20. The Believers *** A police psychologist and his school-age son become embroiled in the machinations of a mysterious cult religion in this thriller from director John Schlesinger. After his wife is electrocuted in a freak accident, Dr. Cal Jamison (Martin Sheen) and his son, Chris (Harley Cross), move back to Manhattan. Cal settles into his new job and romances his landlady, Jessica Halliday (Helen Shaver). Soon, though, a series of brutal murders of young children begins to take over Cal's life. Through the ravings of policeman Tom Lopez (Jimmy Smits), who believes the killers have supernatural power over him after stealing his badge, Cal learns of Santeria, a voodoo-like Latin American sect that mixes elements of Christianity and pagan mysticism. Cal's well-meaning maid seems to be a practitioner, he can't get any straight answers as to whether the cult is responsible for the murders. But after a sinister African shaman (Malick Bowens) places a curse on Jessica, Cal finally begins to understand the danger that faces him -- and his son.

Hellraiser *** A man and his wife move into an old house and discover a hideous creature - the man's half-brother, who is also the woman's former lover - hiding upstairs. He is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former lover to bring him his necessary human sacrifices to complete his body... but the Cenobites won't be happy about this. The Lost Boys ***** Financial troubles force a recent divorcee and her teenage sons Mike and Sam to settle down with her father in the California town of Santa Carla. At first, Sam laughs off
rumours he hears about vampires who inhabit the small town. But after Mike meets a beautiful girl at the local amusement park, he begins to exhibit the classic signs of vampirism. Fearing for his own safety, Sam recruits two young vampire hunters to save his brother by finding and destroying the head vampire. Written by Kevin Ackley 24. Prince of Darkness **** When the guardian priest of an abandoned church in Los Angeles dies, Father Loomis finds a diary and a key, opens the door of the basement and finds a cylinder with a gruesome green fluid. The priest contacts Professor Howard Birack in the local university and he invites a team of students to research the findings and translate manuscripts. The group discovers that the liquid is the essence of evil and has been kept locked in the church for centuries. Their research awakes this fluid and when a student, Susan Cabot, gets close to the container the container skirts the fluid into her mouse. She then begins to transform into a living dead. Susan skirts the liquid among her unsuspecting teammates, increasing the army of evil zombies. While the group is attacked inside the church, derelicts surround the church trapping them inside as Susan the first living dead tries to bring The Prince of Darkness to the world. Many years later, Harley (Lance Henriksen) and his young son are running a grocery stand in Nevada that is visited by 6 city youths on their way to a cabin. While Harley is away on an errand, one of the boys accidentally kills Harley's son with a motorcycle. Remembering what he had seen that night years ago, and what he had heard, Harley pays a visit to a reclusive witch who helps him invoke that demon - known as Pumpkinhead - to avenge his son's death. Tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the main highway and pulls into The Bates Motel. 29. Pet Sematary **** When Dr. Louis Creed (Dale Midkiff) and his family move from Chicago to an old farmhouse in rural Maine, their only concern is the busy highway that flanks their new home. Louis' family -- wife Rachel (Denise Crosby), daughter Ellie (Blaze Berdahl), and toddler Gage (Miko Hughes) -- soon meet kindly old duffer Jud Crandall (Fred Gwynne), who introduces them all to the local attractions, including a pet cemetary built on the remains of a Native American burial ground. When Rachel and the kids head off to visit Louis' in-laws, Ellie's cat gets flattened by a truck. Jud counsels Louis to bury it in the old Indian portion of the cemetery; the next day, it returns from the dead, carrying with it the stink of the earth and a decidedly bad attitude. Shortly thereafter, Louis is tempted to use the cemetery's magical powers again when his son suffers a tragic accident. In addition to adapting his own novel for the screen, writer King appeared in a brief cameo as the minister presiding over Gage's funeral. 30. The People Under The Stairs *** A thirteen year old boy nicknamed Fool lives in the ghetto and has found out his family is going to get evicted from their run down apartment. On top of that he learns his Mother is dying of cancer. Fool is persuaded by family friend, Leroy to sneak into the landlords' home to steal a prized coin collection rumored to be in their home. Desperate to help save his Mother's life and the family from being thrown into the streets, Fool goes with Leroy and Leroy's friend, Spenser to the house. Once they force their way into the house, they realize they got more than what they bargain for. After Spenser and Leroy are tragically killed, Fool tries to escape. Running for his life, he bumps into the landlords' daughter, Alice, a young abused girl full of nothing but scars and fear. Fool feels sympathy towards Alice and persuades her to escape with him. Fool then finds out that the evil and sadistic landlords are not a married couple but backwards brother and sister who kidnap young boys and keep them locked up in the cellar. 32. Candyman *** Helen Lyle and her friend Bernadette Walsh are researching for their thesis about urban legend in the University of Illinois. Helen becomes obsessed by the legend of the Candyman, a son of slaves whose father became rich in 1890 after inventing a device for mass producing of shoes. The educated Candyman was an artist, but when the daughter of a powerful man got pregnant by him, her father hired some hooligans that saw off his right hand with a rusty blade, took him to an apiary with dozens of hives with hungry bees, smashed the hives and smeared honeycomb in his naked body. Candyman was stung to death by the bees, then his body was burnt in a giant pyre and the ashes scattered in Cabrini Green. Candyman stays alive in the legend that says that he would appear if his name is spoken five times in front of the mirror, and the skeptical Helen summons Candyman. Helen and Bernadette go to Cabrini Green, where two unsolved murders had happened, and the dwellers blame Candyman for the crimes. Helen's disbelief brings Candyman back; the dog of Cabrini Green's dweller Anne-Marie McCoy is slashed and her baby vanishes, and Helen is blamed. Later Candyman kills her friend Bernadette, and Helen is accused of first degree murder and arrested, while she unsuccessfully tries to prove that Candyman is the real killer. Will Helen be save now? Army of Darkness *** In the third film of "The Evil Dead" series, our gun-toting, chainsaw-handed hero, Ash, has been transported to the 13th century where he has been prophesied as the one who will find the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead, and deliver the people from the terrors of the Deadites, who quest for the book, too. But he is mistaken as a spy from a rival kingdom and forced to fight two Deadites before the people find out what he is here for. He also falls for a woman named Sheila before he searches for the book. But after finding it, he says the wrong words that will allow the wise men to use the book to send him back and stop the Deadites and accidentally awakens the Army of the Dead, led by his clone, Evil Ash. Now, Ash must use his 20th century wits and skills to beat Evil Ash and his army of skeletons. Written by Will 34. Invasion of the Body Snatchers *** The employee of the Department of Public Health, Elizabeth Driscoll, tells his friend and coworker, the field investigator Matthew Bennell, that her boyfriend Dr. Geoffrey Howell is not the same person - he is behaving differently. Matthew suggests that Elizabeth pays a visit to his friend, the renowned Dr. David Kibner. They meet him in a lecture and he tries to convince her that she has some emotional problem with Geoffrey, while Elizabeth notes that other people are having the same complaint. When Matthew's friends, Nancy and Jack Bellicec, find a clone of Jack in their medical mud business, they call Matthew and he immediately seeks out Elizabeth. He breaks in her house and finds a clone of her. The quartet discovers that people are being replaced by exact emotionless replicas u sing plants that get them when they sleep. Author Cane, it seems, has a knack for description that really brings his evil creepy-crawlies to life. Insurance investigator John Trent is sent to investigate Cane's mysterious vanishing act and ends up in the sleepy little East Coast town of Hobb's End. The fact that this town exists as a figment of Cane's twisted imagination is only the beginning of Trent's problems. Written by Tad Dibbern 36. Needful Things ** Leland Gaunt comes to Sheriff Alan Pangborn's pleasant little New England town, and opens a store. What this kindly Satan sells is whatever you need, from a surcease from pain to an object which you have always coveted. Wolf *** Worn down and out of luck, aging publisher Will Randall (Jack Nicholson) is at the end of his rope when a younger co-worker snatches both his job and wife out from under his nose. But after being bit by a wolf, Will suddenly finds himself energized, more competitive than ever, and possessed with amazingly heightened senses. Meanwhile, the beautiful daughter of his shrewd boss begins to fall for him - without realizing that the man she's begun to love is gradually turning into the creature by which he was bit. The Prophecy *** The angel Gabriel comes to Earth to collect a soul which will end the stalemated war in Heaven, and only a former priest and a little girl can stop him. Daggett nearly became a priest; now he's a cop. He may want to put religion behind him, but one morning a weird, eyeless, hermaphroditic corpse turns up. Suddenly he is on a path that will put him right in the middle of a war in Heaven. And once again, Heaven will show him too much: gore, blood, charred flesh, living corpses and much worse. 41. Village of the Damned *** Aliens put the entire village of Midwich to sleep for 24 hours and impregnate many women. Reeve plays Alan Chaffee, the town doctor, whose wife Barbara (Karen Kahn) is one of the women carrying an alien baby. Visiting scientist Dr. Susan Verner (Kristie Alley) is monitoring the situation for the government. She supervises a mass birthing in a barn. The children turn out to be white-haired, glassy-eyed, and telepathic. Their plan is to use their supernatural powers to kill the villagers and help the aliens take over, and only Chaffee and Verner can stop them. ~ Michael Betzold, All Movie Guide 42. The Craft **** Sarah Bailey, a sixteen year old troubled teenager with a painful past and a history of suicidal tendencies and hallucinations, moves to L.A. with her father and stepmother to start a new life - and is enrolled into a Catholic school. It is at school that she comes into contact with three unlikely friends, Nancy, Bonnie and Rochelle, all who are socially outcast with various problems in their lives that they wish they could fix. Nancy, Bonnie and Rochelle dabble in occult practices, and when they notice Sarah has the powers of a natural witch, they talk her into joining their coven. When Sarah joins, they soon realize that with a fourth witch in the coven they can begin to cast spells they couldn't before, and begin to amend all the things wrong in their lives - but like everything else in life things come with a price. The Frighteners **** After a car accident in which his wife, Debra, was killed and he was injured, Frank Bannister develops psychic abilities allowing him to see, hear, and communicate with ghosts. After losing his wife, he then gave up his job as an architect, letting his unfinished "dream house" sit incomplete for years, and put these skills to use by befriending a few ghosts and getting them to haunt houses in the area to drum up work for his ghostbusting business; Then Frank proceeds to "exorcise" the houses for a fee. All this goes on until one day strange deaths start occurring all throughout town and Frank ponders this, while his love interest, Lucy Lynskey, whose husband had only just died of the same cause, goes to the house of a deranged old woman who keeps her grown-up daughter locked up, saying that it is for the good of everyone else. Soon, it is revealed that even the ghosts themselves can see the force that is killing everyone off; a deceased mass murderer come back from Hell itself to continue killing. It is therefore up to Frank, Lucy, as well as two ghosts, to find out how to end the fiendish ghost from killing any more, while all the

After acquiring a skeleton key, Caroline makes her way into a secret room within the attic where she discovers hair, blood, bones, spells, and other instruments for practicing hoodoo. Violet says she has never been in the secret room, but that the items probably belonged to the original owners' two house workers, who practiced black magic and were lynched as a result. Noting that Ben had his stroke in the attic after entering the room, Caroline is determined to unlock the secrets of the house, and rescue Ben from the horrors that hold him captive within. In Britain, Dracula begins a reign of terror until Van Helsing arrives to save the day.
97. Dark Water *** Dahlia, recently separated from her husband, is starting a new life together with her daughter Ceci. She has a new job and moves into a new apartment. In the midst of a bitter custody battle, mysterious noises, persistent leaks of dark water, and strange happenings in the new apartment cause her frantic search for the cause.
98. The Exorcism of Emily Rose **** A lawyer takes the case of Emily Rose, a girl that while attending college believed she was possessed. When medical care did not to work, Emily turned to her church. Then under the care of her priest , she dies. Subsequently, the priest is arrested and tried for her death.
99. The Mothman Prophecies *** When John and his wife Mary finally find the house of their dreams, they just can't believe their luck. On the way back from the bargain, Mary nearly runs over a caped, winged figure and has a car accident. Later Mary dies in the hospital. John, completely devastated, soon finds some sketches his wife made after the accident. They all show a winged creature, yet there is no angel resemblance at all. Two years later, John all of a sudden finds himself one night in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He has no idea how he has journeyed the 400 miles in less than two hours. In the small town, local cop Connie struggles with many sightings of a mothlike creature taller than a man being reported, while John believes that an explanation for his wife's fate can be found.
