So what is the meaning of Mother’s Day in modern

life? How do you celebrate and give thanks? What is
brated every day and not just on the 8th of May so
that the simple act of flowers, a card or brekky in bed
has meaning all of the time. Our challenge is integrat-
ing this into our family’s lives but hey, we can multi-
task too, right?
So by all means make the card with the kids, buy the
flowers, take the kids out so a sleep in can and does
actually happen but in addition to these I challenge
you to find sustainable ways to acknowledge and
celebrate the Super Mum in your home. So that it
becomes not something that happens in May but a
way of life, a choice in your family to support and
love through action. Isn’t that what it’s all about,
loving and appreciation, respect and tolerance and
together growing a strong and resilient family fo-
cused on your goals and dreams? Teaching our kids
how to do this is much tougher however the rewards
are also so much greater.
So as a starter for ten, reflect on your unique family
situation and write down three actions that, as a
family, you could start doing to ensure that your
Super Mum is celebrated and appreciated every day.
Then, get action orientated and make it happen! Do it
for the Super Mum in your life, do it for your kids,
and do it for yourself!
