The purpose of this memo is to report on the group member’s progress. The memo will also address
issues that may arise, and how they will be attended. The memo will also outline what has been done to
date.
Our client and his needs
The client is the leader of a non-profit organization called Young Life. Glenn has been the head of Young
Life for over twelve years. He is also the minister at the Church of Christ in Lubbock.
Glenn has done fundraising in the past. He is now in need of fundraising ideas, ideas and plans for trips,
and information on tax write-offs for the organization.
Our report will hopefully provide:
New ideas for fundraisers
Corporate donations
List of local corporations that have made donations in the past
Feasible uses for money raised
Meeting the needs of the group and our client this week:
My goal this week is to have completed the following:
Meet with Glenn
Set up questions to ask Glenn
Brainstorm fundraising ideas
Create a template for the next progress report
What I have done
I am the fundraising and corporation researcher for the group. Listed below are my accomplishments
thus far:
o I have met with Glenn and discussed our ideas
o I have started the outline for the final project
o I have reported back with my group members after meeting with Glenn
What I will do by November 11, 2008
The following is a list of what I need to have accomplished by next week in order to stay on track with
the group’s goals:
o Meet with Glenn again
o Have the outline done for the final project
o Have a fundraising idea

Meet with Fudrucker’s about a possible donation
Brainstorm more fundraising possibilities

What I have done
I am the fundraising and corporation researcher for the group. Listed below are my accomplishments
thus far:
o I have met with Chili’s Lubbock about sponsoring a “Young Life Day at Chili’s”.
During this event, Chili’s will donate 10% of the bill of any guest who brings in a
“Young Life Day at Chili’s” flyer.
o I have created a list of other possible sponsors.
o I have met with my church’s youth minister about fundraisers that they have
done in the past.
o I came up with the fundraising ideas that we will propose to Young Life.
What I will do by November 11, 2008
The following is a list of what I need to have accomplished by next week in order to stay on track with
the group’s goals:
o Meet again with Chili’s and get appropriate paper work for “Young Life Day at
Chili’s”
o Meet with general manager at United about donating to Young Life
o Find out about permits and locations for a car wash
o Meet with Fudrucker’s manager

Continue to research sources of funding for Young Life
Meet with Glenn in order to determine if we are on the right track for proper sources of
income
Finalize rough draft template so that we may begin writing
Make sure we will have enough information to write about incase we need to extend
our ideas
Begin writing
Begin working on Group Progress Report 2
What I have done
I am the fundraising and tax researcher for the group. Listed below are my accomplishments thus far:
o I have looked through my tax book researching charity donations for personal
tax deductions
o I have made an appointment with a tax expert to discuss personal and corporate
tax write-offs
o I have started some web research on grant information
o I went to Dr. Fricke’s office hours to get editing help
What I will do by November 11, 2008
The following is a list of what I need to have accomplished by next week in order to stay on track with
the group’s goals:
o Meet with tax expert and get information for personal and corporate tax write-
offs
o Design a handout template that will be given to potential donors
o Complete web research on grants
o Decide which grants are applicable to our charity and compile information and
sources
o Begin writing about grants for rough draft
o Make a group decision deciding if we have enough information to meet the
page requirements for the project
o Edit the Group Progress Report template based on feedback from Dr. Fricke
o Complete Group Progress Report 2
o Get editing help from Dr. Fricke by 5p.m. on November 10, 2008
