Good Therapy for Bad Hearts
A Healthwise Connection “Breakfast Break”
Martin Wiseman, MD, Board Certified Cardiac
                  Electrophysiologist, Hillcrest Hospital.
Patients with bad hearts may not only be limited in their
everyday activities, but also may die prematurely as a result of
their heart problems. During the last 15 years, several strategies
have emerged that not only improve symptoms on a day-to-day
basis, but also improve life expectancy. Some of these involve
attention to medications, some require implantation of specialized cardiac
devices called defibrillators. This talk will outline what can be done, and how
heart patients can be advocates for their own excellent health care.
