THE SUPERSTAR BRASS BAND NORWAY CONNECTION.

The superstar Brass Band Executive Director Mr Kijjambo Zeero William and the
Director of music Mr Mpandi John Susi had a trip to Norway in may 2009 for the
17 May national celebrations.
The Norwegian national celebrations is very different in that, the celebrations are not
mounted by any military, police and prisons but only children marching and
playing Brass Band music past the Queen and Kings palace amidst jubilations,
joy, happiness, chants in the streets of Oslo and in different city all over Norway.
The marching which begins at the old fort goes through the city, the QUEENS palace
and back to town marking the end of March pass.

Other countries in world should accept that, the Norwegian national celebration
is unique and in the 21st century this is what most patriotic citizens are looking
for in their countries to have a feel of a real democratic national celebration
which is not mounted by military might, fear, restrictions and pushing from
military personnel in the name of security.
It is amazing that only in Oslo 109 one hundred and nine Brass Bands
participated in the national celebrations.
All over the country, Norwegian flags flourish which are blue, white and red in
colour.
The people wear the traditional Norwegian attire which resembles an opera singers
dress according to the region they come from which costs around 100,000 to 200,000
kronos which is equivalent to 2 to 4 million Uganda shillings. It is said that it is
the most honourable dress code for Norwegians and most people inherit it from
the GRANDIES OR PARENTS.
After the March pass of the children, the whole day past midnight is full of eating,
drinking, dancing and getting together with different people. The bars are open
throughout the night for people to enjoy the national celebrations.
