Attorney Howard G. Skolnick was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was raised and
spent the bulk of his childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mr. Skolnick attended and
graduated from the Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia in 1975. He went on to attend
the Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Prelaw
in 1979. Mr. Skolnick was then admitted to the Valparaiso University School of Law, which
conferred upon him the Degree of Juris Doctor in 1982.
Mr. Skolnick was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1982.
Mr. Skolnick’s license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is currently
inactive. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas in 1986. Mr. Skolnick
is actively licensed to practice as an Attorney and Counselor at Law in the State of Texas. In
addition, he has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern
District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the
United States District Court of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth
Circuit. Mr. Skolnick is a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar
Association. In addition, Mr. Skolnick is commissioned as a Notary Public in the State of Texas.
Mr. Skolnick has significant experience as a practicing attorney within a small law firm
setting, as a sole practitioner, and within a corporate setting. Within the small firm and sole
practitioner settings, Mr. Skolnick gained significant experience practicing family law,
immigration law, contract law, civil litigation, employment law, and social security disability law.
Within the corporate setting, Mr. Skolnick gained further experience in immigration law, contract
law, and employment law. He served in an In-House Counsel role and in a Human Resources
Director role for a local staffing company for twelve (12) years.
In 2007, Mr. Skolnick resumed a solo law practice engaged in a general civil practice
involving the preparation of Small Estate Wills and the prosecution of probate cases in Texas
Probate Courts, representation of immigrants and nonimmigrants before U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services, prosecution of divorce and other family law lawsuits in Texas Family
District Courts, and the drafting of personal and commercial contracts.
