							                              Placement Specialist (PG 9)
                                (Full-time Non-Exempt position)

Job Summary:
To screen/assess children referred to CFC to determine program eligibility, family needs and
appropriate placement selection and make placement.

Essential Functions:
   Maintain all documentation and clinical or case records according to the contract and CFC
    standards
   Provide referrals to network providers
   Participate in clinical or case staffing
   Provide technical assistance to Case Management and provider staff
   Provide support to program participants until the case is assigned to a Case Manager
   Provides comprehensive data updates to the Placement Coordinator regarding the status of
    placement activity
   Participate in the quality improvement process
   Select and make out of home care placement under supervision of the Placement Coordinator
   Serve as an “on-call” placement specialist on a rotating basis
   Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications:
       Required:
        Bachelors Degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work or other
          human services related field.
        Two years of post Bachelor degree experience.
        Must successfully complete Phase I Child Welfare Certification within six months of
          date of hire

       Preferred:
        Experience working with children and families.
        Placement experience.

Skills:
   Ability to perform at a high level of autonomy or with minimal supervision
   Ability to handle confidential information
   Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
   Skilled in crisis intervention, teaching, listening and basic problem solving
   Ability to recognize importance of social, economic, and environmental factors in the
    development and resolution of family problems.
   Knowledge of community resources.
   Ability to work flexible hours
   Ability to act decisively when necessary to protect clients and assist with crises.
