Mar 6th
After breakfast we take off on a private guided tour of the Arenal Hanging
Bridges Park. Which is one of the greatest eco touristic projects in Costa Rica,

to Costa Rica and the world.

After Breakfast we will travel south into the fantastic scenic wooded valley of
San Gerardo de Dota. Spring brings the Resplendent Quetzals and other color-

Mar 8th
After Breakfast we will meet for a Privately guided Quetzal walk, even those
who are not avid birdwatchers, are amazed when they get to observe one of
these Resplendent Quetzal (pronounced ket-sal) considered as one of the
most gorgeous birds in the New World, that inhabits this area year round.
With its metallic green plumage, crimson breast and belly and its incredible
streamer-like feathers, watching a male Quetzal in its magical flight, is a unique

Mar 9th
After Breakfast we will transfer down to the domestic airstrip and board our
private charter flight to the Golfito region, one of the most biologically diverse
areas in the New World. We will be staying at the Tiskita Lodge and biological
reserve, is one of the original eco lodges located on 800 acres of biological
reserve. Over 275 species of Birds, and 125 different species of tropical fruit exist
on this abundant reserve.
In the afternoon We will take our first guided walk in this remote corner of
Costa Rica. Meals are served family style and your hosts, the owners of the
Tiskita Lodge, will dine with you and Share their amazing knowledge of the                           Scarlet Macaws

Mar 10th
After Breakfast & lunch we will be guided on walks throughout the 800 acres
of rainforest reserve which covers both primary and secondary rainforest,
mountain watershed, streams, lowland coastal regions and the ocean tide pool
habitat. A well-marked extensive trail system has been developed allowing our
visitors to experience this wide range of topical habitats. This is definitely your
best chance to see monkeys, Sloths, Agouti, Paca, Scarlet Macaws and much

This will be a day of leisure at the Tiskita Lodge. You can walk down to the                       Three Toed Sloth

After breakfast, we will return to the airstrip and board our private charter for
the return flight to San Jose. Upon arrival in San Jose we will take a guided tour

before we head to the Alta Hotel for our last night. (BLD)

Group Terms and Conditions

Deposits & Payments: A Non-Refundable deposit of $500 per person is due at time of reservation. Full payment is
due 90 days before travel. Holiday Designers accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express, and personal checks. A
signed copy of this form will be needed at time of deposit.

Tour Group Size: Prices are based on a minimum of 12 passengers traveling in a group. If the group falls below this
number Holiday Designers has the right to either cancel the tour or increase the price for the remaining passengers.

Meals: Meals are show by B (Breakfast), L (Lunch), D (Dinner). Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not includ-
ed. Special meal requests (including vegetarian) are not guaranteed.

Rooms: Double rooms in the hotels and lodges listed have either one double bed, two twins or two double beds
per room private shower or bath. Triple rooms have two beds; a roll away is sometimes available, but not guaran-
teed. Changes in type of room due to cancellation by a roommate (a double changed to a single etc.) will result in
the higher tour prices for the remaining client. Holiday Designers can request non-smoking rooms, but they are not
guaranteed.

Transportation: By modern air-conditioned van, bus, boat and car. No smoking is allowed, seats are rotated daily.

Travelers Needing Special Assistance: Persons needing individual assistance for walking, dining, or other personal
needs must be accompanied by an able companion and must notify Holiday Designers in writing at the time of book-
ing. Trips to Costa Rica are NOT wheelchair accessible. Holiday Designers must be notified in writing at time of
deposit if special assistance is needed.

Gratuities: Tips to local guides, restaurant waiters, and drivers are included.

Not Included: Tour prices does not include international airfare, and is quoted separately. Airfare prices are not guar-
anteed until purchased and subject to change without notice. Departure taxes from Costa Rica are not included and
will need to be paid on an individual basis upon departure from Costa Rica. Also not includes are airport porter fees,
visas, phones and phone calls, room service, valet, and all items of a personal nature and beverages and food not on
the regular menu.

Passports & Visas: You must have a valid US Passport to enter Costa Rica. Your passport must be valid until July of
2011. Non US citizens, please check passport and visa requirements, visa costs and fees are not included.

Travel Insurance: Holiday Designers strongly recommends you purchase travel insurance. Pre-existing conditions
(see limit) can be insured if Access America’s Classic Travel insurance is purchased within 12 days of making deposit.
Travel insurance must be declined in writing.

Cancellation Fees: Cancellation fees are as follows:
More than 61 days prior to start, no charge will be made except the non-refundable deposit
60-30 days prior to start of tour, Fee is 50% of tour price
29 Days or less prior to start of tour, Fee of 100% of tour price.
A written request for cancellation must be received by Holiday Designers

Refunds: There are no refunds for unused portions, travel insurance is offered with deposit and should be strongly
considered. Refund requests must be submitted in writing within 10 days of return date of travel.

Management and Responsibilities: The responsibility of Holiday Designers (Maple Valley Travel Inc.) is strictly lim-
ited; tour participant agrees that the maximum liquidated damages shall not exceed the tour prices. Holiday Designers
is responsible only in the capacity for making arrangements for the tour services offered, including hotels, sightseeing,
transportation (excluding international air flights) guides, porterage and meals from various suppliers (collectively
‘Suppler’). The itinerary offered is subject to revisions, including substitution of hotels, activities and routing. If a
service is not provided, and Holiday Designers is unable to substitute a service of similar value, Holiday Designers’
liability shall not exceed the actual cost of the services not provides. Holiday Designers does not own or operate any
of these suppliers. The Suppliers are not agents, servants, employees, or joint ventures of Holiday Designers, but are
Independent Contractors providing travel or tour services to Holiday Designers. Holiday Designers is not liable for
any damage, including personal injury, accident, personal loss, disappointment, or other expense, from any cause, act
or omission by the Suppliers or third parties. Holiday Designers is not responsible for any purchases made during the
tour. Holiday Designers is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment required during your tour, nor is it
responsible for the quality, or lack thereof, of medical care you may receive while on your tour. Holiday Designers
(Maple Valley Travel Inc.) and/or its agents are not responsible for any damage, expense, or inconvenience caused by
late departures, change of schedule, strikes, or other conditions. Legal proceedings by or against Holiday Designers
may be instituted only in a state or federal court within the State of Washington, and any claim involved in such pro-
ceeding shall be decided in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington. Holiday Designers reserves the right
to cancel any tour at any time. In computer or human billing error, Holiday Designers reserves the right to-invoice
with correct billing. Holiday Designers is not responsible for printing errors or other errors.
