									Field Hockey
The Ohio State field hockey team finished the 2001 season with an overall record of 15-5 and 5-1 in Big Ten play and a No. 5 national ranking. The Buckeyes captured their first Big Ten regular-season championship and conference tournament championship in the 30-year history of the program. Ohio State made the NCAA tournament for only the second time in the history of the program. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named midfielder Marije van Nouhuys a First Team All-American, while forward Vanessa Immordino was named to the second team. It is the first time in the history of the OSU program two players have earned All-America honors for the same season. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association also named six Ohio State players to the Division I West Region All-America Team. Van Nouhuys, Immordino and midfielder Lorena Margni earned First Team honors. Goalkeeper Allison Blanton, midfielder Lucy Clayton and forward Diana Kuser earned Second Team honors. Blanton was selected as the 2001-02 recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor.
