Natalia Diea took all the headlines for the Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team. With a sixthplace finish in the platform diving event at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Long Island, N.Y., Diea earned First-Team All-America honors. At the Big Ten Championships, Diea set the tone for the postseason by winning the platform event and earning All-Big Ten honors. Leading the way for the swimmers was Kristen Sendrowski. The junior was the team’s top swimmer in four events and was voted OSU’s co-most valuable swimmer by her teammates. Freshmen Amanda Treleaven and Katie Severson gave the Buckeyes reasons to look forward to next season. Treleaven shined as she set a Peppe Aquatic Center record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.62 and an Ohio State record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.22. She also was named OSU’s co-MVP. Severson was the fastest Buckeye in three events and was named OSU’s newcomer of the year.
