This would not have been possible without the generous help of our community. We would like to thank the kind community groups, schools and individuals for their wonderful donations of food, toys, clothing, toiletries and other goods for our young families. Christmas is a wonderful time of sharing and we certainly felt the warmth and kindness of our community this year. Special thanks to EMS, Jean Vanier Catholic High School, St. Vincent de Paul, Markham District High School, Innovative Chiropractic Centre and Our Lady of Grace as well as the numerous volunteers who assisted in picking up and sorting basket donations. I Mother’s Day Celebrations! n recognition of the wonderful young mothers in our school program, Rose of Sharon held a Mother’s Day Tea & Spa day on May 5th and 6th. Moms were able to enjoy a day of fun, goodies and of course a little pampering while their babies were taken care of in our Child Development Centre. Annual General Meeting The Annual General Meeting for Rose of Sharon will be held on June 20, 2011 at 4:00 pm at our head office located at 361 Eagle St. in Newmarket. All are welcome to attend! Thanks a Latte! Volunteer Appreciation 2011 In recognition of our fabulous volunteers, a coffee pub inspired appreciation event was held on May 17th. With over 30 active volunteers, Rose of Sharon is truly blessed for the hard work, dedication and kindness each volunteer brings to our organization every day. As stated by Flavia Weeden; “Your heart has brought great joy to many. Those hearts can never forget you.” Our volunteers continue to be a driving force at Rose of Sharon, providing energy and inspiration to the mothers and staff alike – thank you all! Rosie’s Closet We accept gently used donations for children up to the age of six, along with toys, non-perishable food, baby food, formula, diapers and wipes. Larger items such as strollers and furniture can be posted on our donation bulletin board.
