AUDIO TECHNICA MICROPHONES
Audio Technica have worked at the forefront of audio transducer technology for over
30 years, with microphones in use in studios and on stage throughout the world. The
following types are offered from stock, with the remainder of the range generally
available on short delivery to special order. Unless otherwise indicated, all micro-
phones are 200 ohms. Full brochures are available on request.

response for general purpose usage. Offering a “high performance to cost ratio”, it is
supplied with 4.5 metre cable (XLR-XLR), mic-clamp and thread adapter. Weight
Fitted with a hyper-cardioid capsule, this is a high sound level type specifically
developed for instrument pick-up. With a short body to aid positioning in tight situa-
tions such as amongst a drum kit, the microphone has a nominally flat response
making it suitable for general purpose use. An isolation clamp is supplied. Weight

Balanced, low impedance fixed charge condenser boundary microphones designed
for unobtrusive installation in ceilings, panels or tables up to 65mm thick. ES945 is
omnidirectional (hemispherical) while ES947 is cardioid in a hemisphere above the
fixed surface, with the front marked by the Audio Technica symbol. Mounting is by a
24mm diameter hole using two supplied isolators (21mm diameter without isolators)
with only 30mm diameter, 10mm height appearing above the surface. Overall length
80mm. Frequency response 30-20000Hz, sensitivity 7.9mV/Pa. Requires 9-52V
phantom power with integral 3-pin XLR/M type. Available in black (ES945 and ES947)
or white (ES945W and ES947W).
These ultra-miniature microphones are designed for inconspicuous pick up, particu-
larly when hanging from their own cable (over choirs or orchestras) using the matching
wire hanger. The response is nominally “flat” from 30-20000Hz (80Hz roll-off switch-
able), with a high maximum input of 133dB making it suitable, in addition, for “show
relay” purposes. The supplied cardioid condenser capsule requires 48 volt phantom
power or battery powering. The capsule is interchangable, and other capsules (UE-H
hypercardioid (100°); UE-O omnidirectional (360°); UE-UL UniLine (90°)) are also
available to special order - contact Sales. A 7.6m cable leaves the mic body which
connects to the power module with a miniature QG style plug. The mic is supplied
with two-stage windshield, desk stand adapter, and hanging adaptor. The U853A is
black, the U853AW is white. Weight 14g (less cable and PSU), 153g total.
Intended primarily for tabletop use, these omnidirectional boundary layer condenser
microphones are an ideal solution for meetings or teleconference purposes that
require a low profile, self-powered microphone. The response is nominally “flat” from
50-15000Hz, making it more than suitable for voice recording. Impedance 1000ohms.
The unit is powered by an internal LR44 type 1.5V battery (supplied) and it’s rugged
housing contains a power switch on the bottom, to conserve battery life (nominally
1000 hours). A 1.5m fixed cable is terminated with a miniature 3.5mm jack. The mic
is supplied with a 3.5mm to 6.35mm 2-pole jack adapter and LR44 type battery. The
ATR4697 is black. Weight 48g.
Note: The unit can only be powered by the internal LR44 type battery and can NOT
use 48 volt phantom power. Replacement LR44 type batteries are available seperately
(see Index for Special Purpose Batteries).
Wide range condenser gooseneck microphone, supplied fitted with cardioid pattern
capsule. Ideal for all presentation situations where a slim gooseneck is desirable. With
an XLR/M insert in its base, it can be plugged directly into a panel mount XLR/F or to
a standard microphone cable. The capsule is interchangable, and other capsules (UE-
H hypercardioid (100°); UE-O omnidirectional (360°); UE-UL UniLine (90°)) are also
available to special order - contact Sales. Powered by 11-52VDC phantom, the
double gooseneck construction allows accurate positioning whilst avoiding the
‘droop’ problem sometimes present on such slim goosenecks. Fitted with roll-off
switch and finished in reflective black. Supplied with two stage foam windscreen.
Length 480mm. Weight 152g.
This small diameter 290mm single gooseneck is designed for professional presenta-
tion and broadcast applications. The supplied ‘MicroLine’ element restricts sound
pickup from 90° reducing unwanted sidenoise. XLR/M base for direct fitting to XLR/F
panel mount or standard microphone cable. Powered by 9-52VDC phantom.

A pressure-gradient capacitor microphone with a uniform cardioid polar pattern. The
frequency response extends from 20-20,000Hz with a slight rise in the high frequency
region. The transformerless output gives low self noise and high output, up to 145dB
SPL, and the low mass “aged” diaphragm improves transient response and reduces
handling and mechanical noise. Turned brass 21mm diameter matt black housing.
Recessed high-pass filter (80Hz, 12dB/oct). Requires 48V (±4V) phantom power.
Weight 120g. Supplied complete with stand clip, foam windshield and protective
This inconspicuous head-worn mic has been developed for speech applications. The
headband may be worn at the back of the head, the strong but lightweight construc-
tion ensuring a comfortable yet firm fit. The flexible boom is fitted with a low
impedance, dynamic, hypercardioid capsule with response optimised for close
positioning. A fixed 2.2 metre lead is fitted with belt clip and XLR male connector.
A miniature condenser microphone with cardioid pattern fitted to a headworn support
system. Adjustable gooseneck fitting allows either side wearing with accurate
positioning of the microphone for optimum results. Ideal for performers or broadcast
and commentary applications. High gain before feedback with excellent suppression
of background noise. Light and comfortable for long periods of use. The microphone
capsule is fitted with a moisture barrier, and the coated stainless steel headband and
durable cable assembly make the unit reliable in adverse operating conditions.
Powered by 1.5V battery or 9-52VDC phantom the unit is permanently fitted by a 1.4
metre cable to the pre-amplifier/battery module with roll-off switch, which has a clip
for belt fitting. Supplied with large and small windscreens and cable-tidy clothing clip.
