Guidelines

   1. Report full-time Connecticut employees only -- All wages
   and salaries should represent straight-time day work for regular full-
   time employees. Do not report data on part-time employees or
   those who work fewer than 35 hours a week.


   3. Matching jobs -- Your company’s jobs and those jobs listed in
   this survey will not always match. Since job titles can be misleading,
   select the job descriptions that most closely match the
   responsibilities of your employees. As a general rule, report salary
   data only if at least 80% of your job responsibilities match the job
   description.

    2. Cut-off date -- All wages and salaries should be
    reported as of April 2011. Bonus information should be the
    estimate of the average bonus or commission for
    incumbents in a position during calendar year 2010.


    4. Completing the survey -- For each job, report the
    following: 1) the corresponding number of employees paid
    each wage/salary and 2) the average actual
    bonus/incentive received by incumbents and the frequency
    of distribution (e.g., annual or quarterly.)

      For the employees' pay period, use the following legend:
        -Indicate 'A' if reporting an annual salary.
        -Indicate 'B' if reporting a biweekly rate.
        -Indicate 'H' if reporting an hourly rate.
        -Indicate 'M' if reporting a monthly rate.
        -Indicate 'W' if reporting a weekly rate.


Examples: In the first entry below, the company has four
accountants. Two are paid $33,000, one $35,000, and one
$38,000. The salary is reported as an (a)nnual rate (A) and the
incumbents averaged a $3,000 bonus in 2010, that was paid
(q)uarterly (Q).
In example two, the company has five machine operators. The
(h)ourly rate is reported. Two are paid $10.88, two are paid
$11.55, and the fifth is paid 9.85. Incumbents did not receive a
bonus in 2010 and are not expected to receive one in 2011.
