Niche Areas/Specialisation

 Formation of specialist groups in the area of
VAT, Real Estate, Employee Relocations, Transfer Pricing,
International Structuring and Private Wealth Planning.
 Specialist workshops are held at ERO Tax 2006 in Vienna
(18 – 20 May) to fine tune specialty program and to identify
specific target markets.
 Teaming up with Transfer Pricing Specialist’ firm has enhanced
our capability to provide TP studies. Horwath tax specialists already
involved in TP engagements and APA’s, (minimum of US$ 25,000 –
50,000 per engagement). Furthermore, the TP firm has provided
major opportunity for ‘Channel 2’ activity at Belden CDT operations
in 7 EU countries as secured in September 05, with fees ranging
from EUR 250,000 – 1 mln.

Forum for Exchange of Tax Know How
            Quarterly teleconference Tax Executive.
            Regionally based working Committees in APRO
           and ERO with monthly teleconferences
           coordinated by regional chairs (fixed agenda and
           action items).
            Regional Tax Meetings scheduled in 2006:
            - ERO Tax 2006 in Vienna, 18 – 20 May: Two day
              meeting with key focus on specialist areas and
              new opportunities in the market place (60+p.)
            - APRO Tax 2006 in Bangkok, 11 May, with
              focus on new business opportunities in the
              APRO region in the area of e.g. transfer
              pricing, M&A and China (35+p.)
            Formation of NARO/Horlac Committee and tax
           sessions at meeting in Mexico City to be followed
           up.

             Revision of ‘tax’ website in process to increase
           effectiveness of communications globally, with links to
           databases, specialty areas, brochures and marketing
           materials.


             CPAmerica Helpdesk – Making tax
           capabilities available to CPAmerica firms and
           their clients with cross border transactions to
           develop and follow up on new business
           opportunities. Increased interaction with
           CPAmerica firms, very positive feedback to date.

Growing International Business
             Increased opportunities in the market to pitch
           on high quality cross border tax consulting and
           compliance projects. Along with new tax
           engagements for individual offices, the ITG has
           participated in several international tax tenders,
           incl. Federal Mogul, Consumer Electronics, Belden
           CDT.
             Global Demand Creation Initiative – Ready to
           be launched with International Tax Consulting
           being one of the key niche areas.
             Increased focus on specialty areas and niche
           areas of industry

           Tax Surgery Event at ERO Tax 2006 – Country
           desks at cocktail reception to serve business referrers,
           prospects and clients, and to raise the image of
           Horwath’ firms tax capabilities.
           APRO Tax Index Card – Launched at APRO 2006.
           Similar concept explored in Europe.
           EXPO Real in Munich, October 06 – Participation by
           EU real estate group (e.g. AT, DE, NL, UK).
           CEE Folder – To promote tax capabilities in the CEE
           countries.
           Website – Effective usage to showcase specialist
           expertise in identified countries and relating
           professionals.
