                          EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
                    Video Recorder/ Sound Technician /I.T. Support
                         (Contract: November – March 2011)
Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council invites applications for Video Recorder/
Sound Technician /I.T. Support to work out of the Head Office in Cutler, Ontario. The
Video Recorder/ Sound Technician /I.T. Support will report directly to the Chief Executive
Officer of the North Shore Tribal Council.
As the Video Recorder/ Sound Technician /I.T. Support, the overall responsibility is to
provide audio and visual language resources and to create audio books; audio-dictionary
and supplementary language resources for the Office of the Anishnaabemowin Initiatives.
                                    Job Responsibilities
 Videoconference and webcast NSTC Anishinaabemowin instruction.
 Record and produce video and audio recordings of Anishinaabemowin instruction and
    Elder Advisory Council meetings.
 Design and produce digital print and digital resources for Anishinaabemowin
 Provide technical support to member First Nations’ assess to NSTC Anishinaabemowin
 Perform minor repairs and routine cleaning of audio and video equipment.
                                      Other Duties
 Assist in creation of an audio dictionary.
 Assist in creation and maintenance of the on-line library of NSTC-produced
  Anishinaabemowin resources on the NSTC website.
 Assist in the design and electronic delivery of newsletters, brochures, pamphlets and
  advertising available resources.
 Assist in delivering NSTC Staff In-Service training through Audio Video /
  Videoconferencing /Webcasting technologies.
 Other duties as assigned.
                              Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven ability to produce a significant amount of work and resources.
2. Demonstrates artistic and creative abilities.
3. Three-to-five years work experience in a fast-paced office environment.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. Developed interpersonal skills and ability to promote team work.
6. Proven ability to coordinate and manage programs.
7. Excellent knowledge of computer applications, office procedures and time
8. Experience working with computer publishing and graphic software programs.
9. Excellent organizational skills.
10. Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
11. Must be able to travel and attend various community functions.
12. Ability to speak Ojibwe will be considered an asset.
