  INSTRUCTOR
  lonnie eldridge is renewable energy counsel for the los angeles department of water and Power (ladwP).
  He is responsible for assisting LADWP in securing solar, wind, geothermal and other renewable energy sources to increase
  renewable portfolio standard (RPS) energy in Los Angeles. LADWP is the nation’s largest municipal utility and has a
  diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, including the highest-capacity municipal wind farm and a significant solar
  PV net metering customer base.
  Lonnie was previously at the law firm of Latham & Watkins working on utility deregulation and environmental issues. He
  also was corporate counsel to an online marketplace company with a sophisticated software platform for energy capacity
  trading. Prior to law school, Lonnie worked as a field engineer for Schlumberger in Louisiana. Lonnie has also served as
  an advisor to a number of technological startups.
  Lonnie holds a juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review. Lonnie received his
  bS from Stanford University (Computer Science). He has completed twenty jury trials and is a member of the Society of
