PTO HOMEROOM REPRESENTATIVE SIGN-UP 2010- 2011 School Year STONY BROOK SCHOOL The Homeroom Representative is a Volunteer Who: 1. Enacts the emergency telephone chain when the Superintendent directs it. 2. Coordinates the classroom parties in October and December. 3. Coordinates the Valentine’s Day treat 4. Helps coordinate volunteers for class trips/events if requested. 5. Helps solicit volunteers for the PTO, if requested. 6. Helps provide finger food dessert for Back-to-School Night. 7. Collects classroom party donations. EACH HOMEROOM IS ASSIGNED TWO REPRESENTATIVES. These parents work closely with each other. When more than two people volunteer for one class, the following criteria will be used when selecting Homeroom Representatives: 1. First priority will be given to volunteers who have NEVER been a Homeroom Representative for THIS CHILD. 2. Second Priority will be given to volunteers who have been a Homeroom Representative before, but would gladly do it again. 3. If there are more than two candidates, then two names will be drawn from a hat. 4. No parent can be team parent for more than one child in the same year. 5. Discretion of hr parent selection committee. All selected Homeroom Representatives will be asked to attend an orientation meeting scheduled for September 15th at 7:30 p.m. in the Stony Brook Cafeteria.
